i recently saw part of Anything Else (2003), missed the beginning (will be seeing that soon as i can). it is sort of a throwback to woody's youth methinks, with younger characters as the protags than in just about any of his movies. Woody's still grappling with love and death, from an increasingly (if possible) Freudian perspective on sex and life. interesting especially because Woody appears not as the main character but as the youthful main characters' mentor-figure so we have a sort of split persona of Woody appearing in two distinct friendly characters. worth seeing, probably his best since Deconstructing Harry which was at the time (a few years ago) his best since, well, Manhattan.
