another gorgeous, funny, sweet film by michel gondry. this guy makes films that mirror the images i have in my head when i write.
be kind rewind is about a man (mos def) who works in a run down old video shop in new jersey. they are threatened with eviction due to the poor state of the place.... his friend (jack black) gets electrocuted, turning him magnetic. when he walks into the video shop his magnetised self erases all the film. the two then go about re-creating the films for their patrons.
it has a similar feel to gondry's other films science of sleep and eternal sunshine... very lo-fi, indie, handmade sort of feel to it, which i love.
if you like that style of film I'd recommend this.
