2005 looks to be an interesting year of "high concept" films. We can look forward to Adam Sandler in "The Moe Howard Story"; Paris Hilton has teamed up with Scooby Doo for the upcoming "Doghouse"; De Niro and Pacino are back together for "Two Gentlemen from Barone's" an interesting take on the Shakespeare classic, set in a modern pizza parlor.
Ian McKlellan will be also offering up some Bard this year when he plays Beatrice to Anne Heche's Benedict in "Much Ado". Diane Keaton is rumored to be doing a small scale, feminist-oriented movie, "Everreadies," a paean to solitude.
Nic Cage is teamed up with Jack Nicholson for an interesting picture: "Red: Skelton and Buttons," a charming homage to the two great comics. Kelsey Grammer, with Kirstie Alley, will be doing a remake of Ozzie and Harriet, and word is Kelsey also has plans for a Bob Hope-inspired musical, "On the Road to Canberra." The Wayan Brothers will be joining forces with SnoopDogg and other hiphop greats for "Pimpmaster of Disaster", in which the homies open up a brothel in Compton and stock it full of aging hollywood actresses.
Ben Stiller will be playing Tevya in "Fiddler on the Roof of Jerry's Deli" an interesting update of the classic play. Chevy Chase is scheduled to try his hand at a drama, "Atascadero", and Quentin Tarentino is rumored to be making a mobster-inspired flick, "My Bunkie, Sam Giancana."
