very Bergman-like film but with a -let´s call it- more sunny narrator´s voice. The film at the same time made me think in some american mid-western thriller-horror films with kids -not involving too much the thriller speed- and also in Noveccento - this maybe because the feudal-rural portrait and also because it led me somehow to stories told by one of my grandparents who lived, as a son of peasants, near the italian-austrian border before and during the First World War... -
