The Beach

Post by singlemalt » February 1st, 2005, 10:35 am

by Alex Garland.

Started out ok. Half-way through, it's kind of stuck in the mud. Hope it picks up.

The Beach is a book that impressed me less and less upon reflection than it did when I was reading it (when I thought it was great).

Though the movie spawned a review which spawned one of my favorite lines (I can't remember the reviewer):

"As Leonardo DiCaprio learns, it's not paradise if there are hippies there."

Amen.
