Studio8 - Uniting the Arts

yesterday we planned with some friends to go to see "The help" and because we didn´t find entradas we ended watching "Violeta se fue a los cielos". Even though Violeta Parra sang some of the latin american folk songs I like the most (Que he sacado con quererte, Volver a los 17, Gracias a la vida, Arauco tiene una pena, Arriba quemando el sol ... they are so sad, so nude and beautiful!!!) I didn´t knew too much about her life, I knew more about the chilean context during her life ... the film puts its angle in her personal life -no direct references to the socio-political context-: passion, creativity and yet loneliness is exuded by the film... the why? final possibility, always uncomfortable.
