Hi folks. This seems like a cool place.
I've been taking notes on the more interesting sounding stuff peopel have mentioned they've been reading; here's some ideas to pay back;
Poetry;
A Broken Bowl by Patrick Friesen. Minimalistic and nihilistic. Very honest and pure considering how long this guy's been writing.
Execution Poems by George Elliot Clarke. Narrative poetry, telles the story of two murderers in depression era Canada. A little on the elitist side at times, but beautiful and if you get the original Gaspereau Press edition, the book itself is a notable work of art.
LA Confidential by James Ellroy. This has been my favourite movie for a while now and the book is equally strong at keeping you in a certain mental environment.
Hope one of these catches someone's eye and they set off reading.
Cheers,
Jake McArthur Mooney.
been reading.
