Phil Lesh - Searching for the Sound

Post by judih » May 12th, 2005, 2:10 am

just received this book by mail order - came along with a CD of some Dead songs and comments from Phil about what was going on beforehand.

Great book -
click onto his site and read the excerpt that goes into some detail about the one and only Festival Express, when the Dead took part in a train ride across Canada.

Dear judih:

Phil Lesh was the most innovative and virtuosic electric rock bass player of his time.

I remember being completely blown away hearing him the first time I saw the Dead play free in the Golden Gate Park Panhandle in 1968.
