Just got the call that I've been hired to appear in the film adaptation of Jon Krakauer's Into The Wild...main character is played by Emile Hirsch, supported by Vince Vaughn, William Hurt and others. I'll be playing a "Logger" type...they also hired my old jeep as a prop. Should be fun.
Oh, and the director?
Maybe you've heard of him, a young fella by the name of Sean Penn.

Speaking of "logger" type---
Kesey keeps my vanity in check.

Have fun on your run
Could I have your jeeps authograph?

Fantastic! Wow! Great! Woohoo!

I've never known a hollywood star personally before.... oh except, of course, that director of yours... Sean Penn... who I've known intimately for quite a few years. We often meet in my room and in my mind. God, I love that guy! Please tell him he plays the lead role in many of my dream movies. ;)

but seriously... Sean Penn is one of the very best character actors of our time! I just love him!

All the best to you Scoot! (I love ya too! ;))

This is so cool! When do you start filming?

Can I have your autograph? :D

Tomorrow morning (monday 07:00)...I'll be keeping notes on my impressions of the action as this thing plays out-stay tuned for up to the minute reports from the exciting world of big time Hollywood productions.

Man o man, what a day..12 hours on location. Sean "Mr. Intense Motherfucker" has got to be one of the most intense people in the world.

I'm so frazzed and overwhelmed by the experience today I gotta decompress a bit before I can untangle all this crap in my head and straighten it out-what a day. Katherine Keener, who played Harper Lee in last year's Capote plays a hippy chick-my scene was with her and got to spend time with her between takes. A thoroughly charming charming woman.

I'll pick this up again when the buzzing in my brain settles down. I just gotta sit in the quiet and process todays experience-it was heavy duty.

jim! how utterly great!
whow -- how did it happen? did you express interest in being hired (like being on an agent's list, or something), or did they simply remember you from that last film?

what's your scene about? what did /do you have to do / say?

i had my forst movie-experience as well just last month. not quite hollywood, though, but a feature film with a well-known german director, at least.

my part was to play a severe nordic walking instructor, explaining the technique and to give those two actors who played gossipping and scheming ladies a wigging (or several), both verbally and physically (had to push one of them into a cow pat).

it was such a great and intense experience, and i can totaly understand the buzzing and the high-wiredness you#re feeling, ebcause i felt the same.

the shooting of the three scenes i was playing in (with a total of less than 5 minutes) took 12 hours, and after that i was totally exhausted and absolutely high-strung and energized at the same time.

what a day, indeed, and in reading about yours, i re-live mine!

congratulations to you -- and tell us more!!

hi cecil --

"my" film will be on tv next spring (probably)... i hope to be able to record it on dvd, and then i could send you a copy.
(it's just a kitschy romance movie, but of course i am mighty proud about my part in it!)

I have no problem with romance movies... I'm a romantic at heart.

good!

though i'm not part of the romantic scenes, anyway... i'm just the grumpy into-cowpat-thrower.

zora has a small part as well, btw. she plays a "good reader" in a 2nd grade class, compared to the main character girl's illiteracy.

(and from here on, i shall stop hijacking jim's thread... sorry, scooter!)
