Dr. Frederick Frankenstein:
From that fateful day when stinking bits of slime first crawled from the sea and shouted to the cold stars, "I am man.", our greatest dread has always been the knowledge of our mortality. But tonight, we shall hurl the gauntlet of science into the frightful face of death itself. Tonight, we shall ascend into the heavens. We shall mock the earthquake. We shall command the thunders, and penetrate into the very womb of impervious nature herself.

I liked that scene too. . Did you notice the darts in the cop’s hat and the flat tires on the limousine?
Mel Brooks considered it his best movie. I read somewhere that they spent a lot of money buying the sets from the old Frankenstein movies from the thirties. I really like B&W movies.
I like this bit too.

I think I may watch To Be Or Not To Be,but the remake with Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft. I liked it better than the original with Jack Benny and Carol Lombard But What a dish she was. I loved her dresses in that one, those satin body hugging gowns.

i agree with mel. i think it's his best because it's his most consistent film. many of his others are relatively uneven.
mel brooks is one of the funniest men alive.

spontaneous giberish Carol Lombard I love women in women's clothes. But Selma Hyack Maybe her dress was silk not satin.
Yes funny, still one or two jokes in Frankenstein that fell flat with me. But yes he is a genuis. Whatever that is.
I am thinking about Under The Rainbow
Might be what the doctor ordered
Laughter still the best...

But Salma Hayek looked pretty good in Frida when she was wearing that man's suit.
Getting ready to pack in for the night. If I am lucky my dream lover will come tonight.

agreed. Young Frankenstein 's Brooks' best movie.
High Anxiety good too.
but whyy the hell has there been a producers remake. fuckin' eh, man, its impossible to improve upon the original. remakes like this and that King Kong crap are the surest sign that the movie business is the most corrupt its ever been.
saw the Incredible Shrinking Man on t.v. recently, they say theres gonna be a remake. why? wasn't Honey I Shrunk The Kids bad enough?
