Sit (f)ar Sitar

This is a poem I wrote back in 2003 - i even did it at the Bowery back then.

Today, Chuquai Billy a musician poet took my sound files and added some music. Hope i can post it in this new deluxe Studio environment.

Ah hah. Can't upload mp3s. I'm sure Dori told us this, but I didn't remember.

edit: to correct Billy's last name.

Sit (f)ar Sitar

Sari slips off the shoulder
Sit far sitar
Dance in barefoot gesture
Twist hand
Speak eye
Tabla table top
Hair flies, arms rise
Dance

knees open
As mountatin sighs

Sit far
Sitar
boggles wonder
A stroke, a turn
Bindi binds her
Pose shanti kick

Sit (f)ar sitar
satin blush
Music rush
Sir (f)ar sitar

Sit(f)ar sitar

Sari slips off the shoulder
Table top
Hair flies
Arms rise
Dance
Knees open
As mountain sighs
Sit(f)ar sitar

Dance in barefoot gesture
Twist hand
Speak eye
Tabla table top

Boggles wonder
A stroke
A turn
Sari slips off the shoulder
Sit (f)ar Sitar

by the mingo
that went good with the coffee
I bought this morning at the donut shop
that was minus the four sugars I asked for
and once through the door I looked up
to see a crow overhead fighting strong headwinds
and I thought Aha! so that's how it's
going to be

thanks for listening, mingo and kurt.
made me think that live performance is the way to go. in lieu of live accomplices round here, i might have to reinstate my puppets.

(just thinking aloud)

I couldnĀ“t listen to the sitar but I could read the beautiful poem, judih...! May you be safe & still dancing inside, secret magnolia candles lighting your way, and feel the hug of friends despite the distance ...
