goin fishin, off to the U.S.
Posted: July 24th, 2006, 10:20 pm
This evening, july 25th, eldest son will be driving G and i to Ben Gurion airport to make a 1:00 a.m. plane to JFK.
i'm goin fishin, and walkin and huggin some family back in the U.S. of A.
Till now, i've hardly wrapped my mind around leaving this place. In tense times, it's very strange to leave. Luckily, down here, there's nothing new - life is the same, but the whole country is rapt with attention. What's happening this hour, this moment? Where are there sirens? How many are still in underground shelters?
Still, these tickets were ordered more than a month ago, and tonight's the night.
On the lighter side of tomorrow, there's the chance i'll see my daughter, who's now a proud Floridian, but who may be a proud New Yorker or Illinois-er or any other -er depending on what life brings her way. i'll be seeing my sister and her family. My brother might show up. My uncle's having an 85th birthday celebration, so there's a chance i'll be seeing cousins from Oregon as well as the New York versions. I'll be seeing cousins from Maine and perhaps a friend or two.
Will i be seeing whitebird from Canada? Hopefully.
Doreen? long shot.
Mark, wireman? slightly shorter long shot, but long, all the same.
While Cabaradio jives the capital, i'll be tuning in live, via empathy radio.
And while raga/blues plays, i'll be in ambient attention, no matter where i sit cross-legged.
It's five a.m. with a list of doings to do.
Remains to be seen how this day unfolds.
Sunflower Fields, post-bloom, still bravely reminding us that life continues after death (Nir Oz/Nirim fields, July 24th/06)
