Did I get the dough to hold its shape?
Well, not exactly.
About 2 thirds of them got the cookie-dough syndrome and spread out to create a shape that was more round than triangular. However the filling stayed in.
The rest had a decent shape, except for this one cookie, made of 2 cookies I'd completely flunked and put one face-down on top of the other, to see what happened. The result looked kinda horrendous, a chinese puzzle for shape-namers, a lump of dough completely devoid of form, designed by some twisted architect in the kind of dark and badly lit basements twisted architects go to design things, with strange starfish-like pseudopods and this one mysterious tiny orifice whose untold functions would have made a packet on the Discovery Channel.
But it was perfectly edible once you got past looks.

ha!
that creature from the pastry netherworld has left a lasting impression in my mind.

the secret is to paint the inside of the round shape with some beaten egg and then you squeeze the corners together. That works! but it's more fun to watch what happens when the shapes are left to their own devices.

next time, perhaps do a quick sketch?

Wireman, i can get near it.
But since my son informed me that it's a crypt for a Sheikh, i've stopped letting my mind lead me inside.

But in the interest of curiousity and you being a little too far to get near, i'll push on and capture more of the place.

to be continued...
