Dry road and moonlight

Post by stilltrucking » December 14th, 2008, 6:22 am

Donner Pass at midnight
tree shadows cast on virgin snow by a full moon
And I was happy
because the road was dry
and all my troubles so far away

Donner Pass could be a bastard in the winter, JT. I lived in Reno for a year and drove back and forth on 80 ( when I had a car-- otherwise, the Greyhound) to San Francisco.

Ten-foot snowdrifts in some months. And, of course, there was also the horror of the University of Nevada for me-- where I taught three classes.

That was 1971.

Nice little vignette you wrote above.

Thank you

I been trying to get back to you on the Betty Paige post.

Still letting my thoughts simmer.
