Vanity R Me, amor fati

Post by jackofnightmares » November 16th, 2009, 6:52 am

To comprehend eternal recurrence in his thought, and to not merely come to peace with it but to embrace it, requires amor fati, "love of fate":
So what if I lost thirty years of my love life to it.

All that matters is from here onwards
or now on.

It could have been different in some other world. But in this one it is as it should be.

Woke up this morning and a bowl of oat meat tried to stare me down
and won.
Hot dog bun
My sister's a nun
just trying to have me some fun
oh mother dear
not the fortunate son
girls just want to have fun

T Rex
bang a gong get it on
planet queen
give me your daughter

Yes it is good as "I" go
into goodnight
saying all is well

good night good night
good bye

A good piece, Jack. My sister's a nun. Liked that. I'd asked once if a promiscuous girl could just turn into a nun all of a sudden, just like that, decide it on the spot. No one knew how that could happen. They'd decided nuns were born without those feelings to begin with, but I don't believe that for a second. I think it's just choice.

i owe you the appology
sorry
Doreen is a stickler for quotes just because of that.

Prine claims the song is not about pot.
I met him in Nashville about thirty years ago. I was there at the airport with my brother who came to Nashville to be a country music star. Prine told him you don't have to come to nashville to be discovered, you just sing your songs where ever you are.

Which sounded like good advice to me. But plenty of people still come to nashville to be a star. amazing city for music. every little honky tonk has live music people playing for tips.

I heard that song Poncho and Lefty ten years before Willie Nelson recorded it. I heard the guys who wrote play it in a little honky tonk back in the seventies.
John Prine nobody ever heard of him but he is a poet troubador.

Speaking of nuns Sister Estelle I really liked that woman, sometimes when I rant and rave about that patriarchal god of my mothers before me I think about sister estelle and feel a bit ashamed of myself. Maybe not ashamed but I do not mean to impugn her faith. I read that american nuns are being cracked down on by the n*zi pope and his boys. They are american women at heart, too independent, to free, they need to toe the mark, maybe put on those black robes again. Or better yet a burqa.

I grew up next to little Italy in baltimore, to get to my elementary school I had to walk past St Leo's Catholic church, this in days when the nuns wore those old fashioned habits I thought they looked like witches I would cross the street when I saw them coming.

I never thought I would wind up a priest but I have. I don't even choke my chicken anymore. I let the longing and the fire down below sublimate into this writing.

You know in a lifetime you are lucky to make one or two true friends. I feel blessed to have made a few sister friends on the internet who I can talk about anything with.

I'd not think it tmi, but you know I'm a confessional.
Like going to the priest, though I've never.
If I could paint a portrait, It'd be of me peeking into the priests quarters to confess my soul. But, saying it loudly where ears could hear too.

I think I suffer from my childhood religion. The louder I confess and to the crowd, the more I feel I've handed over my confessions to be released from guilts.
Do the thing you fear most and the death of fear is certain.

Mark Twain

It is just deciding. Killing the fear, Jack. Ya got it in a death grip.
And you'll know a lot taking a road less traveled by yourself then. I've been flirted upon and encouraged, even kissed since the x, but I've no interest with tangling just to tango. Besides, I find it interesting to go in odd directions to see what will become of me.

I'm glad to be accepted in my crazy girl ways, Trucker, here in cyberland with you guys. I might be more real here than in everyday. So thank you from me, too.

He was a writer,
but it was like traveling
when she read him.

I fall asleep drowning
with a fish in my gut.

It's nice to find writers to distract my consistency.
