http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... ews&sub=AR"I have no one to speak too [sic]," read a posting from January 2005, when Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was attending boarding school. "No one to consult, no one to support me and I feel depressed and lonely. I do not know what to do. And then I think this loneliness leads me to other problems."

287 Friends and he was still lonely! On Facebook, Abdulmutallab's profile features a photo of him smiling, standing alongside two friends and wearing a sharp-looking pink polo shirt and sunglasses. He has 287 friends.
I guess I won't get a Facebook account afterall
It probably would not help me either.
It is regrettable within this young man's loneliness his religion was unable to assuage his confusion.
How many of these suicide bombers are recruited by those who easily recognize these lonely and confused young people?

I read your comments about him to mnaz.
Could one man set off world war 3?
Could one man set off world war 3?
The motorcade proceeded along Appel Quay in Sarajevo. When the driver mistakenly turned right into Franz Joseph Street and stopped to reverse, 19 year-old Serbian Gavrilo Princip, who had gone to get lunch after the previous attempt failed to kill the Archduke, happened to be standing on the corner. He was one of six assassins positioned along the route by Danilo Ilić, a leader in the secret radical organization, Black Hand.
can one fly drive a person to extremes?
sure, one man (i use that word only because of his age) could be the last straw that could very well cause a domino effect of reactive counter-punches in the political world.
i think the 'modern world' could get fed up with the primitive backwardness of segments within our global society that hampers progress, and indeed has reached that point of frustration in many areas.

I have reached the point of frustration with that Patriarchal god of the judeo christian islamo religions. But I think Hindu's have their nut cakes too.i think the 'modern world' could get fed up with the primitive backwardness of segments within our global society that hampers progress, and indeed has reached that point of frustration in many areas.
Got to love them Buddhists, not much of that bullshit there. Is there?

There presence is everywhere within our society... or so it seems. This a.m., while washing some dishes, it occurred to me how truly ubiquitous Christian influence is throughout the world. Mainly, and most importantly, the calendar - based upon the years since Jesus had died. I simply lived that fact since everyone else did, but the calendar is man's time machine, so to speak... it schedules everything we do in this life, worldwide... even if we're not Christian!
2010... an ominous sounding year... one that speaks to me of unrest and unhappiness... a mix of fear and uncertainty. o, well... everything is perfect.... thanks to the Buddhists.
Zennists are innocuous, too... but they get wrapped up with Buddhists as if it was the same.... no quite! so close but yet so far... IMHO.

The Tibetan Book of The Dead.
I wonder if the author was familiar with the Old Testament.
The Grateful Dead indeed
Yeah
I wish I could change my chromosomes sometimes. I would like to have the genes of a Viking Beserker. It seems more mellow than this Y gene I inherited from my father and that mighty smitey god of his mother and my mother before me.
I never did have any masturbation fantascies about Snake Eyes Condoleeza Rise. But I used to imagine her on the crapper with her knickers down to her knees and I wondered if her shit stank.
So now the republicans are talking how OBama blew our security by letting that lonely boy from Nigeria on that airplane.
No mention of the briefing that Rice got a month before 9/11 that warned of a plot to to attack the US main land with airplanes.
Tossed aside, she had other more important stuff to do.

If my info is close to being fact, the Book of the Dead (not a book in ancient Egypt, btw) was probably written in 1300+ B.C., which may or may not precede the O.T.. .. not sure when that was written, the Book of Moses, et al...
But interesting enough both these writings were not very far, geographically, from each other so one could have had some influence over the other and vice/versa, you think?

I was thinking about Tibetan Buddhism. Not so much the Egyptians.
Cecil you know i am just a Google poser. I was thinking about how the The Grateful Dead got their name. Someone posted somewhere that one of the band members got the name from a reference book, And that it had something to do with Tibetan Buddhism. How the dead were grateful to find someone to help them pass over. Something like that.

just made reference to google over at mingo's in a reply to judih...
yes, google and wiki are two forces of info that are quickly shoving libraries and encyclopedias out the back door. too old i am to confirm if that is a good thing, but what i think matters not... what matters is what the next generation, and the one after that, think... it's their world... i just hope they don't think "i'm old and in the way" ... some Jerry Garcia tune from a while back...

I just read something in the newspaper that reading is up among kids.
We just built a big new library here in schertz.
Welcome to the past and the future will have been.
You would think that with 297 Friends a person would not be lonely.
Do you have a Face Book account?
So now if you want to come to the united states and have anything derogatory about you in the record you can't get a visa. That is a sound byte I heard.
So watch out you foreigners, anything you say will go on your permanent record and you will never get to Disney Land or
The Holyland Experience

I think I would like to live in the Holy Land. I been thinking of moving to east texas
I have heard that Jesus was born there. Somewhere around Lufkin. Palestine I think.
I deleted a bit from mingo's lingo about the USS Liberty I don't want to rain on anyone's parade.
Jimboloco is fascinated with Jerusalem. But I am interested in Tel Aviv. I am curious to see the naval museum there. Do they realy have the ship's bell and wheel from the torpedo boat that attacked the USS liberty there?
I been wondering what really happened. It keeps getting explained away. Just a tragic mistake but they got that ship's bell and wheel hanging in a place of honor as if they are proud they attacked that ship and killed 34 american sailors and wounded 110. But the Israeli government explained that too. Just a coincidence because that boat was the last of that type in service so they put the ships wheel and bell in that honored place. At the least it seems a bit insensitive of them to do that.
Judih remembers Masada, Mingo remembers Wounded Knee, I am trying to forget the USS Liberty.
"Tell me what were their names
What were their names
On the good ship Reuben James"
