There is no night here
Only light and women
No darkness

How long can a person survive without seeing the night sky? A long time probably but it dulls the spirit

There are ten of us here, ten old people, me and nine women
and enough electric lights at night to light this place up like a football stadium. Geezers do not love the night it seems.

I look at the stumps of the shrubs that lined the area behind her apartment. They cut them all down for her because she was afraid someone was lurking behind them. They even installed more lights for her. The other women say she is paranoid.

How does a woman become so frightened/paranoid? Ha.
Not much to wonder about. Had to be a man or men.

She does not live here anymore. But she comes over some nights when she works late and stays at Margarete's apartment.

Margarete does not look well. She sunk deep in depression her slumped posture even worse the past couple days. I wonder if it has anything to do with the paranoid's staying over. Margarete is not suppose to have any guests staying since Alex turned her in to the office because Margarete's grandson was living with her.

Alex lives across from her. If she saw the paranoid's car in the lot she might have turned Margarete into the office again. She could be evicted. That is my worst fear. The paranoid woman (Mercedes) must know Margarete is on probation how could she ask Margarete to put her life on the line like that? Margarete living on social security, it takes years to get into low cost housing.
