R.I.P. stilltrucking

Post by myrna minkoff » May 8th, 2009, 8:48 am

Be not sad for him dear friends.
He died with his boots on
He died on an upstroke
He died doing what he loved most

It was a good death.

It was his final wish
that if souls are reborn
he would be a woman next time.

But most of all he died because he ran out of road. on the information highway. He got to the end of page 800 and ran out back pages.

As executioner of his estate I have been appointed to conduct a poll as to who he should be in his next life on the internet here at Doreen's Tea Party for the Hopelessly Vain and Eternally Brokenhearted.

Poll questions to follow.

On further reflection

I apologize for the inconvenience but still.trucking is going to be me for the next 12,000 posts.

I will do my best to control the sock puppets in the drawer.

They are not so much other voices or characters as other attitudes, probably not discernible to anyone but me.

I wish you were here.

Health, if I don't have that I don't have much, I got to grow up fast cause I barely got a chance for another two years, or two days, never know, I been flirting with /dəˈzastər/with these gottdam cigarettes.

When I die, won't you bury me in my high top Stetson hat
Put a twenty dollar gold piece on my watch hand
So the gang'll know I died standing pat
I want six crapshooters for pallbearers
Pretty gals sing me a song
I want a jazz band on my hearse wagon
To raise Hell as we roll 'long

Count My Blessings

Now I saw a black crow on a fence post
Singing away like Sam Hopkins's ghost
He sang when you see I ain't breathing no more
Nail my feathers to an old barn door

Or drag my carcass out behind the shed
Just make sure you're pretty sure I'm dead
Ask an Ouija board if you can't quite tell
Or if I start to stink like the floors in hell

Go to Navasota after I'm done dying
It don't do you no good sitting around crying
So I got me a pencil and a moleskin book
When I heard Bertha Franklin shot and killed Sam Cooke

If you can't give me love and peace, Then give me bitter fame. — Akhmatova.
