My Favorite Studio Eight Posts

Post by still.trucking » June 24th, 2009, 5:18 pm

got fun on the brain, not guns
altho i always wondered
if jesus hadda been shot insteada hung onna stick
would today's folks wear little pistols round their necks?
and fathers hand them down to sons
on birthdays and graduations, sayin...
"here boy, this'll keep you saved.
talk to this when you need to."

...and then i realize that yeah,
they already do.

I saw surfermike for the first time in months
I wonder if G-d had a smith and wesson that day he met him on that hill top?
(in Vietnam. )

me in reply.

Kari Guntherson, I believe.

I concur with Mark. That was a super poem and my thanks to you, truck, for resuscitating this gem.

I liked that story surfermike told about seeing god on that firebase in Vietnam. Deus Ex-Machina. Unfortunately nobody will be resuscitating that one because the archives on litkicks have been trashed.

I been thinking about the day when studio eight goes down too. On a day Doreen decides she is not having a good time here for all the work she does.

So I have decided to start saving some of my favorite posts.

Got anything to contribute to the Studio Eight hall of fame?

yeah, it was pretty strange. to many details to remember. i remember talking to Judih. she was wearing a blue dress with brown birckenstocks. i have no idea what we were talking about but i woke up feeling very much at peace. thanks metaphysical judih! Maybe i saw the future? perhaps a glimpse of the get together next year?

havent been posting much. sorry. very busy with regular job and praise lifes force, my handyman buisness is taking off. usaully working 14 hour days. no jobs tonite though, thursday nite is reserved for trout fishing.

i really did enjoy the lrod thread about the newyorker cartoon. lots of good threads in creative writing also. and lets all get together and push one of my favorite columnists ,Cecil, into publishing a sunday stream book?

Baby is due in five weeks or so. Denese is up to 150 lbs. Holy fuck! her hospital bag is packed and ready by the door. i hope baby knows to arrive before the NY football Jets season opener. how difficult a choice would i have? stay home and watch football, or attend the birth of my first child?

fear is good
if ya don't be
leave it.
don't lie
down there
over here
where the air
is cold.

your young
er soul
has lost
touch
with the new
est oldness.
be loved
rather than hate
'd. never
mourn for your
self.

Thanks mousey, I am looking to find a couple mousey ku's I liked a lot.

I feel like slapping myself upside the head for all the stuff I deleted from here.

One from west coast tickled me
"Elephants dance in baggy pants"
that is all I remember from her post.

I also liked that cartoon you posted To Pete's Sake Art Blog. I wrote a reply to it that I also deleted.
My caption was for what the big dog is thinking.
"I wish."
