What a history! A fugitive from Egypt and Palestine, here I am and find help, love, fostering in you people. With real rapture I think of those origins of mine and this whole nexus of destiny, through which the oldest memories of the human race stand side by side with the latest developments ... The thing which all my life seemed to me the greatest shame, which was the misery and misfortune of my life—having been born a Jewess—this I should on no account now wish to have missed.[7]
In my loneliest of lonelies I am still out there looking for her, a stranger

this secrete life I live away from myself
so obvious to others so strange to me

in two hours and one minute it will be 11/11/11 and 11 Hours 11 minutes and 11 seconds and there will be silence.

what is wrong with me why do I feel outrage when I see those adds on tv that for 19 dollars a month I can come to the aid of a wounded veteran and his family.

little things like that leave me feeling so alienated from this best of all possible worlds we live in.
