Hoodoo Temple
She kept asking, "Where am I?"
almost forty years later I am driving down a two lane blacktop farm to market road in Texas and asking myself, "Where am I?"
All I remember is that it was very beautiful and I was feeling no pain. Never felt nothing, never felt better.
Put me on a highway
and it all comes back to me

If you can't give me love and peace, Then give me bitter fame. — Akhmatova.

Re: Hoodoo Temple
Connetticut Ave NW near Dupont Circle near an ashram with the Indian restaurant, The Golden Temple? The night we had the Marinol®, the night Jitterbug met Ram Dass walking down the street.
I could not understand what she met, I tried, we all tried, to tell her where she was. So literal we was.
But just for a moment there behind the wheel I knew I was there too, just for a moment, an oppening as if the veil had parted. And I was here but it was not here, I did not know where here was, I knew the road, I knew the country side, but I was a stranger to myself.
Enough to keep me keeping on

The princess with the pea under her mattress. I been thinking about her since I drove to work this morning. Thinking I got to write it down before I forget it.
It would be
if it were not so
Men who hate women, they make such fools out of women, some women maybe.
Men are fooled so easily, not even worth talking about. But it seems each sex has its own blind spot. Viva the blind spot.
Good little girl, she was a good little girl. Her mother too.

The breasts...ah, the breasts. They are for the babies - men stroke them to get the mother mother thing goin' in the woman they want or need to get with 'cause it's a cold world and men need all the allies they can get. No such thing as the "lone wolf" - that's infantile Hollywood fantasy - don't never see a lone wolf in the forest or on the prairie - wolves hang together for a reason. They need the companionship for survival & to give living panache. I've never come across a wolf reading Nietzsche - or zen koans for that matter.
A woman's breasts are one of the great friends & allies to all mankind.
The breasts...ah, the breasts.

Re: Hoodoo Temple
It's hard as a rock, the things some women do for breasts, never forget how hard they were, but they looked good, like wax fruit. But that was almost forty years ago, silicone has come a long way since then.
Sad but I can't blame them, they are only doing it to make some fool man happy.
They have their own ice in the shadows on their on trail, not sure if a brother can know a sister's ice in the shadows, or if a sister can know a brothers.
But look at all those young parents with their precious children. Makes me feel like a dirty old man cause all I ever wanted was to get laid. Never thought about being a parent.
Speaking of parents, and breasts, I like that song about
"wont you lay your head upon your saviors breast"
after silent woman'a abortion I played that one again and again and over

Re: Hoodoo Temple
I have read that wolves mate for life. Some humans too I have heard.
I would hate to be the lawyer handling a divorce case between two wolves
But some women know those glands are money makers. Thinking about the beat scene in north beach, no one mentions Carol Doda anymore.
I was listening to a woman talking about a movie in Chicago that has a special matinee for new mothers, let them bring their babies with them. She said it was bedlam the screaming crying babies except when there was an image on the screen of a bare breast. Then you could hear a pin drop.

I will never forget the feel of her silicone endowed breasts, so hard. Reminded me of wax fruit. I felt so sad for her. She did trying to keep her cheating husband at home.... - wolves hang together for a reason. They need the companionship for survival & to give living panache. The school bus to heaven is the one with only the driver aboard.
Sorry Jack - it just popped up above the soup in my head. I mean I noticed it right off. My neighbor, God, ain't up yet. No activities at God's house this morning.
He had a late night - lights burning 'til after midnight over there so God must be sleepin' in. Yesterday was God's birthday & when I came home last night after work his son's car was parked in the driveway and all the lights were on. His son didn't leave 'til after two.

Re: Hoodoo Temple
I got movin on, on mym on my mind
Tired of my world view as a Jew
not much chance of getting past that in this lifetime
Consider my servan Job. . . .
maybe why Zen has such a strong appeal to me
if only it wasn't so hard.
Good morning mingo
just passing thoughts, Arcadia posted the killing floor blues on youtubes studio eight got my mind drifting that way
As much as I fear, I am grateful too
for being alive
WHo was it that said judge no man happy until he is dead. A greek philospher the wisest man who lived I have heard. Killed one day while walking on a beach thinking deep thoughts and a tortoise dropped by a pelican flying over head hit him on the head and killed him dead. Solon, so I have read
I am grateful for the blues two
Mz Blue Too
an old truck I used too drive
I named her that

Re: Hoodoo Temple
That's a parcel of our power as men, given us by none other than God. All poetry and language is based solely on this power to name. For good or evil. I named the Cherokee Vera. My kayak Rita. Got a guy I talk to down at the coffee shop I call the Diamond Man. The old goat.

I only felt that way about one car I owned. The guy I bought it from named it, and painted a little cartoon of Hagar the Horrible. It was a Saab still makes me smile to think of it.
Woke up this cold raining morning feeling the the world was in ruins everything was piles of rubble and smoke and ash. I should check my blood sugar. Ha. Fellow wrote a poem called "is it me or is it the drugs"
