woke from a dream elizabeth taylor debbie reynolds
I kept trying to write a dream in my poem
the girl with the dangerous eyes
the distraught hair
the empty womb
the metaphysical blues
thinking about cape cod again
maybe I should not have used a condom
is that why she called me an ass hole.

deleted this from the haiku board just now
wrote a poem in my dream
woke to thoughts of Cleopatra
Elizabeth taylor and Debbie Reynolds
and Eddie Fisher and the woman in Cape Cod
how women do each other in their competition for mates
is that what my dream was about?
I worked hard on that poem
choosing the right words
Rearranging the lines
now all I got left is this.
Distraught hair
dangerous eyes
an empty womb
I fell asleep listening to the PBS video above not sure what Moby Dick Had to do with my dream

how women compete for men?

maybe she will be in my dreams again
