I lost it in front of a dump truck last week. Hit a little rise on a concrete apron to a drive way on Highway 775, luckily I went over to the right and out of the roadway. The driver stopped his truck in the middle of the road his eyes wide looking at me, checking me out. I signaled him I was okay and waved him on. I kind of felt like a NASCAR driver walking away from a wreck. I knew what Mark Twain meant by "if you live" The best thing about my Schwinn is that it made me appreciate my new TREK™. I been riding 15, 20. 25 miles a day the last couple of weeks.

That thing that happened to you with your shoe strings, happened to me with a motorcycle once, lucky I was stopped at a light when it happened, I had just taken off. since then I wear shoes without laces, velcro strips, geezer shoes. Saw a strange movie a long time ago called "
Hard Eight" that's what the young guy called them.

cant imagine that happening on a motorcycle - shit, it was impossible on a bike - literally tied to the machine and couldn't hardly reach it - I'd thought about a pair of those geezer sneakers with the velcro straps - hell yeah, Mongolia
