it's wrapped around my ears
I take a breath
I draw it in
and stupid's all I hear

why can't you get things right
I try and try
I flip the switch
flashing neon "dummy" light

I'm all caught up in whimsey
in the waning summer sky
I lift the latch of plenty
sweet explosion
fills my eyes

I'm all caught up in frenzy
in the trashing of the veil
I look at it
I study it
I wish to no avail

I'm all caught up in believing
in trusting what I can't see
I nurture
every moment

A stupid dummy morning
a whimsied frenzied night
believing's not quite seeing
but some day I'll get things right
