Hollow log syndrome

Post by mousey1 » September 13th, 2006, 2:37 pm

I can't shake the feeling of

/

doubt

shimmering hope

hollow log

syndrome

semi colon

here my thoughts take a turn
slip round the corner
look back
face out
smile ruefully
concise and configure
line up in orderly fashion
shape up
return to the beginning
make a long drawn out decision
head back again
revision
revision
revision

(you made me revise my thinking)

dot the inevitable i
conceal the quizzical
trodge over the latter pages
enhance the hero
make him unequivocal
charge to the altered state
of recognition
turn on the light
stare straight into the face of it
breathe in
and
as the signs of life overtake
once again
return
ageless neanderthalette
pirouetting on a dime
overemphasizing the fine points
I cut a ridiculous figure
don't I?
shaping the sublime
into wild-eyed fret
I'll get over it yet
she smiled
her simple attitude being
they won't look past it
and true to form
they haven't
hollow log syndrome
lays there
lies there
blinking
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

You are a childish and petty little dweeb. And your words cut like the sharp little blade you are.

Yes, you have me pegged. I am green with envy.

Talent? Yes, you have spurts of something alright. But you're pretty much like me, a whole lotta shit and very little substance.

He is twenty-five. He has one thing in his life to hold onto. Writing. Writing, two t's or one I can't remember, I look it up a thousand times and I can't remember, one t I think. Typical geezer memory. Stuff from sixty years ago comes flooding back to my mind & I can't remember stuff from five minutes ago.

I can read Geoff's short stuff with no problem, but when he writes a long scrolling post my eyes start to twitch.

Hollow log is fine
I am not hollow yet
Still rotten to my core.
An old lightning shattered gnarled old tree.
Someday I hope to wash up on a beach as driftwood.

Don't go mousey. I don't think I can make it without your poetry.

The thing is I'm just me, communicating in my own way. I didn't really mean to step on his toes in a harsh manner. I thought I was jokingly pointing out his spelling mistakes. Boo me.

I don't think I'm any great shakes in the writing department, I just like doing it; but I try to make it as presentable as I can. I appreciate that anyone takes the time to read it.

I don't know stillt. I'll probably just stay in here. I've never really been one for inflicting myself on people.

Don't worry about it.

It's nice that you get something out of my writing.

I do mousey, I really do
get something out of your writing
thanks

As for this
I thought I was jokingly pointing out his spelling mistakes. Boo me.

I thought his spelling mistakes might be deliberate. Maybe even dialect.

Oh I forgot
I liked this one a lot mousey1
I forgot to mention that.

A hollow log is a drum
Drum dread in the night
The great white hunter scoffs at native superstitions

Then the drums start
And his hat becomes way too big for his head
No idea what I am saying, just free associating

I think I am finished now
Wish me well
I am going to break my fingers now
If I get desparate I can always type with my nose.

The only thing serious as a fart in a space suit for me:
Is if mousey1 stops posting.

But that is the way it goes

mousey wowsey
cheepey weepey
have some cheese and wine
tuck your napkin in your chin
and let your glasses shine

still truckin, still shuckins
deep in the heArt of teXass
u sing yur song
howling with the jackrabbits
as they go hopping along
the prairie
looking for holes
to dive in
to wonderland
and the cheshire cat
knows where it is at
and the pipe smoking caterpiller
is the guru
and nothing really matters
the center does not hold
things fall apart
so the story goes
in woe
u weep
in melancholic morbidity
u despair
until the next breath
and then u see
whyImage
that is an awesome tree!
sticking out sideways
bent by some immense wind
charred and bared by lightning
yet it persists
insistant growth ongoing
a tree to revere
a tree to hug
in teXass

Jim
Mesquite Tree
Not much left of it.

It is out on Trainer Hale Road near Woman Hollering Creek
It is on a corner that I turn to head home from New Berlin.
I called it my tree
But now I call it my hai tree
No idea what hai means but i like the sound of it
That tree means a lot to me
It amazes me that it is still alive
We are both hanging on by a limb and a leaf

Please hang on mousey1
Maybe poets need a big box of band aids.

Mousey1 please don't go
surf the wave
shine it on
let it slide
rise above it
Don't let him flush you away
You make me green with your gift
Sunshine, just like sunshine
Even on a stormy day
You move me with your words.

I hope you are just on hiatus
