"just for fun!"

Well, is there any motive better?

Tall, stoic tree
pointed in its search for heaven
when all the time
it was right there
within its reach

its roots like toes
digging deep
finding purest pleasure
buds and blooms
and turns the dark-eyed promise
into fruit

for birds and squirrels
who dine upon the seeds
and leave the nuts and berries
all for me

hmmm, is that the tree of knowledge
where good and evil meet
and all we dine
its cotton candy fragrance
so sublime
we can't resist
so take a tiny taste
and leave the rest
to history
and time?

...but I digress...that's a beautiful tree mt. It assails my pleasure centers, for I've always been a sucker, a sap, for a magnificent tree.

just for fun mousey like a
ride through the fun house of fear

It focuses the mind so
I fear for my hai tree

say we don't talk about that
something else

Racoons or dogs say
my dog
ten pound Pekinese
he puts the fear on me
I step easy
cause if I step on him
he attacks my feet
If I am lucky I will be wearing shoes

sleep tight the dispatcher said
pleasant dreams
trucker's got phd's in sleepology
I laid there perfectly still
there on the amorphous edge between consciousness and dream
I realized I was still out of touch with my body but breathing normaly
breathing beautifuly, it only affected my voluntary muscles I realized as I waited for what unfolded next.

I almost forgot this bit

It's a good tree...rooted in the ground and rooted in the sky.

It's certainly been hacked to bits and still it chooses to green.

A tree of tenacity.

The Forest
IX. — SONG. — TO CELIA.
by Ben Jonson

Drink to me, only with thine eyes,
And I will pledge with mine ;
Or leave a kiss but in the cup,
And I'll not look for wine.
The thirst, that from the soul doth rise,
Doth ask a drink divine :
But might I of Jove's nectar sup,
I would not change for thine.

I sent thee late a rosy wreath,
Not so much honoring thee,
As giving it a hope, that there
It could not wither'd be.
But thou thereon didst only breathe,
And sent'st it back to me :
Since when it grows, and smells, I swear,
Not of itself, but thee.

perhaps my resolution this year shall be
to contemplate on such and such
and lose the me in me

I know where that there tree is. If you look close you will see a highway cop hiding behind it Or there was the day I come through there with the hammer down.

That stretch of highway in the picture reminds of the road running west to El Paso from Sierra-Blanco Texas. Straight and level for a hundred miles, strange feeling to go a hundred miles an hour in a truck. You can almost get away with it on that stretch of highway. No way to stop a truck going a hundred miles and hour even on a truck with good brakes. And that truck had breaks that failed inspection in Calfornia. Yes that truck was not your Hot Rod Lincoln the brakes were not good and the tires not fair. The tires failed inspection too.

This was right after I got bit by a spider and my foot swelled up like a purple football. I went to the ER and a foreign doctor with a not to good grip on English told me it was okay to go to work but just keep my foot elevated. So there I was with my right up on the dash and the hand throttle pulled all the way out. It was the fastest truck I have ever driven. THe owner had that engine tuned just right, he liked his trucks to go fast, but he was indifferent to safety.

Flavor me a quantum hippie to day
used a pic of you the other day to illustrate how my right eye looked after I got bit in the face by a dog when I was about three or four. hope you don/t mind.

just a stream
I will clean it up latter.

Here it is later and I started this yesterday but I got more I wanted to say about that spider and that trip to San Diego. And I still have not cleaned it up yet. I think I believe in "zen naviagation". Even if I don't understand it. Do believe in things you don't understand? Or is it just superstition?

"Zen navigation" probably get a million hits on google
First place I read it was a quasi sci fi british novel The Long Dark Tea Time Of The Soul.

Thinking about a dark tea time of the soul
Roethke's "in dark times the eye begins to see" something like that.

I never should have drove that truck,

I had just got out of jail because of a tooth ache in Atoka Oklamoma the police desk sargent was a lady with a nice sense of humor. "Atoka, if you stop here and it is a miss de meanor, spend the night and it is a felony"

I was homeless when I got back to san antone, no decent out fit could hire me because of the six month D.O.T. suspension. So I got that job with a fly by night operation.

I worked for a guy who had inheirited a trucking company from his daddy.

His business model was if he could just get rid of these got damn truck drivers this would be a nice trucking company. Hated truck drivers, but he has way into racing, had a big shop that looked like it was all chrome and stanless steel. About three of those indianapolis race cars with their engines torn apart, not a speck of grease, dirt or a drop of oil anywhere.

Truck garage was pretty nasty, but he had them big 400 cummings turned up hot.

I never should have drove that fast, just a monster truck, and it looked like a hundred miles of empty road in front of me. I am getting nervous again with the bike, I got comfortable I was doing real good, but now I am starting to wonder if I can take the curves a little faster. Bad attitude
where is Juan Fangio when I need him

Where is that cute little mouse. I hope it wasn't her I killed a couple weeks ago.

I had a mouse move in the first cold spell this year. I am not the nice guy I used to be. I never could bring myself to kill them. I would wind up with mice running all around my crib. God must love mice cause they are such fruitful multipliers.

I guess I do sound like I pander to women.

Well I hope you are still kicking
you know what a guilt monkey I am
I worry that I have poisoned the well at the studio eight oasis for you.

It was your sense of humor that made me feel like hemmingway in love.

I will hope you are just busy. Seems like a month of sundays since you posted.

Oh sometimes the seasons grow wearying
so we find little ways here and there to
trick the doldrums into delirium

I do pop by
read a spell
but so often a fly on the wall
is just that

a mere speck
a fleck
a trick of the eye
blink and it's gone

well humour makes the time fly by
swatted by each minute we're alive
suction cup feet
walking on windows
upside down

you can't take the blame
for my no show Go
for my choosing to gaze out dirty screens
at the melting snow
and day dreams

Mouse droppings drying on the ledges of
a shuttered up, locked down mouse hole

maybe time for some spring cleaning

or just flinging open a window.

Well the fat lady sings of summer and cries for her supper
so who knows through what door will her wind blow.

Do you suffer from pandermoanium?
