Babbling Brooks

Glorious is the spring
lost by a babbling brook that sings
of better days to come and go
watching crystal clear water flow.
Sitting here lost in a daze
my mind ablaze
with poetic thoughts
about lessons life taught.
Watching butterflies dance in the breeze
beneath swaying pine trees.
This is the life to live
taking all nature gives
for free.

I am sitting on the river bank,
bare feet in the stream;
absent from body,
absorbed in a dream.

In dreams I soar
knocking on heaven's door.
Mother nature lets me in
asked where I'd been.
Said I was watching a babbling brook
and took the time to look
underneath your gown
seeing your beauty abound.
She said I am glad you enjoyed
and then toyed
with my mind
saying God is way behind
and couldn't see me today.
Told me to go back to my babbling brook to play
and soon she would be there too.
She and I danced in the nude
Damn,
I snapped out of my dream
because
in the woods a panther screamed.

Cool crisp waters of river current
Run like tears on a mother's cheek
She is free form in her loving labor
Healing water saviour

the brook by which i sit
i find my solitude, my thoughts
i find my peace wandering
through streams of dreams
and rest easy
there is a simpler place
then where i am.

ah one day long ago
down and out in houston
drove west into the plain
found a river bank dream
spent an afternoon there
the brilliant light above
the warm dark shadows below
somehow renewed
my sorrowed soul
and washed my worries
out to sea
a made a drawing
i let it go
lost in dreamtime
you brought it back
mind's eye still knows
how great the river
through the pain
sunny day
long ago

That Norway book aint babblling
it's preaching up a storm.
Moving on down a crooked line.
Beautiful in its urgency
to get where its going.
Wish I was that free flowing.

brooks was a guy that could not hear well
he seemed to babble
maybe there was alot we could not hear while attempting to listen to him
he would get all excited to communicate and in his annunication
would shout and laugh and speak all at the same time
he was like a brook after a big rain
every time he opened his mouth
it was alot like the hippie communes
joy
when he came a long on a bus trip
the big flow of the 70 s and 80 s
came from brooks talking and chain smoking roll yer owns on the magic bus

watching crystal clear water flow.
Strangely enough I had a hell of a fight with my brother in law over a bottle of spring water. He tried to throw me out of my sister's car but I wouldn't go. He threatened to call the cops, take me to the police station. Kind of a shame, was such a sweet natured Texan before he married my sister, twice. His friends used to call him The Bear.

Not to harsh your mellow just going with the flow. Soak my feet in ice melt.
