I updated my guitar modes article today to include a bunch of examples of popular songs which use each mode so you can hear and recognize the unique sound of each mode, and to provide an even clearer explanation of how & why each mode creates its own unique sound, how to apply modes to individual chords and how to know which modes to use, and some examples of how & when to mix modes over a song or progression. The updated version should give you everything you need to know about modes.

Peace,
Beth

OK, so I just finished recording & posted a new cover version of The Thrill Is Gone by BB King ... I'm singing & playing lead guitar on the track ... and it's the first recording ever featuring me on lead guitar! Hope you dig it! :)

Hey remember that article I did last month on A Simple Way to Understand Modes for Guitar - they actually posted it this week on GuitarNoise.com - way cool! :) ... here's the link:

http://www.guitarnoise.com/lesson/under ... ar-part-1/

They just posted the first section so far, next section will be posted around Aug 5th ... but if you want to read the whole article now, I've got it posted in an earlier post here on my personal music site:

http://www.studioeight.tv/phpbb/viewtop ... &start=127

Also, this week I recorded two full band versions of "The Thrill Is Gone" & "Let the Good Times Roll" - with me on vocals & my first ever recorded lead guitar work & lead guitar solos on a full band track. Folks have really been digging the new tracks & have had a lot of good things to say! :) You can listen to them, and download the mp3s for FREE on my new blues myspace site: http://www.myspace.com/bethisbellbluesband
-or- on my reverbnation site - here's a link to a reverbnation player if you want to check them out now & you can download them for FREE from this link also ... http://www.reverbnation.com/tunepak/2749571

Hope you enjoy the article & the new songs! :)

Peace!

A friend of mine who teaches mastering took pity on me & voluntarily remastered both of my new blues songs - "The Thrill Is Gone" & "Let The Good Times Roll" ... they sound great! Thanks so much to Craig C. White!

The new versions are posted on my myspace page:
http://www.myspace.com/bethisbellbluesband

Or you can listen to them on this reverbnation player:
http://www.reverbnation.com/tunepak/2749571

AND, you can download the mp3s of both songs for FREE from either site!

Hope you dig it!
Beth

I uploaded one of my new songs - "She's Not Catholic" - to uplaya.com ... they claim to have developed a scientific program to rate songs by comparing them to lots of things, including current & past music Hits, to determine if your new song will be a hit ... and the result was ...

8.9 Platinum Auddy Award - Mega Platinum Hit! ... they're top score! :),

Here's their verification notice of the Platinum Auddy Award for SNC ...
http://uplaya.com//swf/trophy?song_id=70974

And here's the song if you want to take a listen - it's just the scratch track with me on guitar & vocals playing live against a click track, but still rocks - and apparently it so rocks that it's a guaranteed mega-hit if produced right!

That's actually the second 8.9 Mega-Hit Platinum Auddy award I've received in the past year ... the other was for a song I wrote called "Magic" which appeared on my solo acoustic indie rock EP "Aardvark" :),

New song/recording - August 1, 2010 ... "Shine On" ... which I personally call "Big" ... it's very radio friendly - so feel free to share & pass it on! :)

New song - finally got the mix right! And the new result is beautiful! :) ... the song is called "Breathe" ... about that situation we've all been in where the relationship ends for one person before it ends for the other ...
