Ruby
©2008 B. Isbell

I love the way your body makes me feel,
And the way your lips can seal the deal,
Ah Ruby, with your massive sex appeal,
I think I love you!

I love the way your mind turns on a dime,
I live to steal your kisses, it’s a crime,
I always want to be with you, be mine,
I think I love you!

Hey Ruby, I’m just tryin’ to say hello,
But I can’t even raise you on the phone,
Baby, please don’t leave me all alone,
You know you want me!

Ruby won’t you come on home to me,
I’ll give ya everything a girl could need,
I’ll even let you do your dirty deed,
You know I love you!

Hey Ruby, I just want you to be mine,
Come and be my little concubine,
Just say the word and help me see the sign,
You know you want to!

Notes--Extremely uptempo romp about desire. You got'ta love it!

Santa Claus Rock
©2003-2007 B. Isbell

Santa Claus is rockin’ on Christmas Eve,
Santa Claus is rockin’ on Christmas Eve,
So you better be nice if you want to receive,
‘cuz Santa Claus is rockin’ on Christmas Eve,
with the wink of an eye, and a ho, ho, ho, … man, he like to go, go, go!

Santa Claus is coming on Christmas Eve,
Santa Claus is coming on Christmas Eve,
Better watch all the lies and webs that you weave,
‘cuz Santa Claus is coming on Christmas Eve,
with a sleigh full of toys for all the girls and boys, … man, that dude can haul a load!

Reindeer flyin’ on Christmas Eve,
Reindeer flyin’ on Christmas Eve,
Put some nog in your egg, and you just might see,
Reindeer flyin’ on Christmas Eve,
With a big red nose cuttin’ through the snow, …man, you ought to see it glow!

Santa Claus is rockin’ on Christmas Eve,
Santa Claus is rockin’ on Christmas Eve,
Dancin’ over roofs with his magical speed,
Santa Claus is rockin’ on Christmas Eve,
With his radio blaring and a ho, ho, ho, … man, he love to rock and roll!

Note—A truly rockin’ Christmas song! Got to dig it!

Save Me Tonight
©2000 B. Isbell

Everybody knows the way I feel, … except me, … except me.
Come on baby, show me if your love is real, … for me, … show me.
Every single time that we’re alone, or just talking on the phone,
girl I want you more and more each day
But my simple thoughts get in the way, words I can’t bring myself to say,
there are no tomorrows, there are just todays.
(And) everybody knows the way I feel, … except me, … except me.

Come on baby, won’t you please …
Save me, … save me, … won’t you please save me tonight?

Baby, won’t you tell me how you really feel, … for me, … for me.
Please, darlin’, give me all of your love, (you can) trust me, … love me.
Catholic girls in love are much too slow, can you show me love the way you know,
I just really want to be with you, tonight.
If I had a dime for every day, thoughts of you on moonlit bay,
walking together with your hand in mine.
Baby, won’t you tell me how you really feel, … for me, … for me.

Come on baby, won’t you please …
Save me, … save me, … won’t you please save me tonight?
Save me, … save me, … won’t you please save me tonight?

Everybody know the way I feel, … except me, … except me.

Note—Seems like everybody knew I was in love with Maria, except me. I was quite frustrated by the never-ending chase, which seemed like it would never reach fruition, … which is why it ultimately didn’t. I’m sure there’s a lesson in here somewhere. I just know I was mad about her and at her. I realize now, much later, my doubts prevented me from obtaining my dreams.

Send Me An Angel
©2000 B. Isbell

When I was young, God sent me an angel, when I was scared and she comforted me,
She held my hand and led me from danger, led me out of the pain and into her peace,
For the rest of my life I’ve searched for that angel in every hope and in every dream,
But now I’m so old and my heart is so empty and her sweet light has faded from me,

And I say Lord, if my angel is out there, please send her to me,
And when it’s dark, and I am lonely, I fall to my knees and beg the Lord “please”

Oh sweet Lord, please send me an angel, someone to love and set my soul free,
Oh sweet Lord, please send me an angel, to warm my nights and help me believe, won't you help me believe

But now I’m so old and my heart is so empty, and her sweet light fading from me,
And when I doubt that she’ll ever find me, I fall to my knees and beg the Lord “please”

Oh sweet Lord, please send me an angel, someone to love and set my soul free,
Oh sweet Lord, please send me an angel, to warm my nights and help me believe,
Oh sweet Lord, please send me an angel, who I can love and who can love me, .... Yeah, who can love me? …
Yeah, Who can love me?

Note—I love this little song. And Lord, please send my angel to me. Soon.

Serenity
©2003 B. Isbell

Serenity is holding out her hand to me,
But Lord these blues just won’t let me be,
She is walking beside me, Serenity.

And all I am is sitting right in front of me,
But Lord this feeble mind just won’t let me see,
That she is standing beside me, Serenity.

Serenity is all I ever wanted her to be,
But Lord this pain inside has got a hold on me,
But she is waiting patiently, Serenity.

Note—One of my favorite songs, perhaps my favorite. I love these lyrics.

Shattered Dreams
©2008 B. Isbell

I said my dreams are all shattered (now), … and my love torn away,
I said my dreams are all shattered (now), … and my love torn away,
But that’s alright now baby, … tomorrow(’s) a brand new day.

I said the storms they are a brewin’, … and the rain(’s) pouring down,
I said the storms they are a brewin’, … and the rain’s pouring down,
But I feel so much better babe, … now that you left town!

I said my dreams are all shattered (now), … and my love torn away,
I said my dreams are all shattered (now), … and my love torn away,
But that’s alright now baby, … I bet I’ll find my way.

Throw me out like the trash now, … (and) set me out on the curb,
Throw me out like the trash now, … (and) set me out on the curb,
Yeah, I know I should forget ya, … after smokin’ all this herb!

I said my dreams are all shattered (now), … and my love torn away,
I said my dreams are all shattered (now), … and my love torn away,
But that’s alright now baby, … tomorrow(’s) a brand new day.

Extra Verse
I’m gon’na find me a lover now, … we(’re) gon’na dance all night,
I’m gon’na find me a lover now, … we(’re) gon’na dance all night,
That’s the way it’s got’ta be, yeah, … since you don’t treat me right.

Note—I love the first verse of this song over the song’s driving guitar hook. I think we all have probably experienced being dumped at one time or another. Turn those tables, baby! Finding a new love just might be the cure you need.

Sid’s Lament
(aka The Lament of Sid Vicious)
©2003 B. Isbell

I hear confusion in your sorrow,
Echoes relentless through your head,
I see young goddesses there weeping,
As they roll out your desperate bed.

Can you hear my screams above the traffic,
Cryin’ out for you and yours to bleed?
I see reflection in your faces,
Desperate souls, Vicious acts of greed.

I see victory standing on the corner,
As good people hunt that bitch down,
Psychotic ramblings of a mad, mad man,
But they’re tucked behind a Vicious sound,
Can’t you hear that Vicious sound?

I feel the pleasure of tomorrow,
While tomorrow feels my pain,
I sense a frightened little swallow,
And she’s crushed, between two human hands,
Yeah, she’s crushed between two human hands.

Note—Well, I love these lyrics too, perhaps my second favorite. It’s about Sid Vicious and me.

Something to Prove
©2006 B. Isbell

Sittin’ here thinkin’,
Got myself drinkin’,
Wonderin’ ‘bout makin’ my way back to you
Forgive my insistance,
The time and the distance,
Seem to make my existence like a memory to you,
But you … still got something to prove … to me.

Drink at four-thirty,
Ball on the fifty,
Life is always 4:20, just a party to you,
Got no religion,
Can’t make a decision,
If it weren’t for this couch, you’d have nothing to do,
But you … still got something to prove … to me.

Pull off the highway,
God, I love to get my way,
Gonna get me some lovin, gonna bring it home soon,
I might be crazy,
My thoughts are still hazy,
But who’s that mother-fucker makin’ love to you,
When you … still got something to prove … to me.

Note—hey, someone might like this one. Not sure about it myself. About being lazy.

Sometimes
©2009 Beth Isbell

Sometimes you’ll catch me singing to myself
Sometimes … I sing out loud
Sometimes I feel my own emptiness
Even when, I’m singing to the crowd

Sometimes life’s not all she’s meant to be
And sometimes, I just know
There’s a spirit inside that wants to be free
If I … could only know

If I could know the way to heaven
If I could find the way to hope
If I could know the path to love and happiness (or- and joy)
Maybe then, … I could know (or- find) my soul

Sometimes I wonder if I’m meant to find
The answers … my heart seeks
Sometimes when life seems to turn so unkind
Sometimes … my soul bleeds

Sometimes the spotlights turn from green into red
And Sometimes my mind goes
Sometimes I wonder if it’s all in my head
And if I’m ever gonna know
REPEAT CHORUS
Solo Break then REPEAT CHORUS

I want to find my own heaven
I want to find my own hope
I want to cross the path to love & happiness
I want to find my own soul

I want to know, Lord I want to know
I want to feel what it feels to be free
I want to know the love that lives inside of me
I want to find my own soul
I want to know my soul

Smile
©2009 Beth Isbell

There is, … nothing I can do or say … to make this feeling last forever …
Too bad, … cause I like the place I’m at, … hopin’ hard that we can stay together,
‘cause I like the way you look at me,
And I love the way you smile …
If happiness were always up to me,
Life would only be the one we make it, … ‘cause
Love’s too precious of a gift to fake it,
And God I really love the way you smile ….…..at me!

We laugh, … in the park on holiday, kids are runnin’ ‘round with smilin’ faces,
Someday, … maybe we can have it all, and sail off to all our favorite places,
‘cause I like the way you make me feel,
And I love the way you smile …
If happiness were always up to me
Life would only be the one we make it, cuz
Love’s too precious of a gift to fake it,
And God I really love the way, God I really love the way … you smile …
when you’re with me …cuz everything is better, when we hold hands together, and God I love that I’m the one you want … when you smile (oh ya, oh ya, oh ya)

This song,...is just another vain attempt, to try my best to make you love me better,
Cause I, … would give most everything, for a chance to spend our lives together,
Happy, … is how you make me feel, … and I hope this feeling lasts forever,
‘cause I love it when your lips kiss mine,
And I love the way you smile …
And if all the stars above align,
Life would only be the one we make it, cuz
Love’s too precious of a gift to fake it,
And God I really love the way you smile,
yeah God I really love the way you smile ……at me!

God I love the way you, … God I love the way you,
God I love it when you … smile!

Sunshine
©1999 B, Isbell, P. Woodford and K. Tomlinson

Sunshine makes me feel like a good day's comin',
Summer takes me back, back to free love, yeah,

It's so salty by the sea, if you know what I mean,
They got some wicked scenary, it's the place to be

Sunshine makes me feel like a new man,
(come on baby ,take me down to the beach!)
Summer takes me back, back to groovin',
(the waves are jumpin' and my love is free!)

It's like exquisite poetry, makin' time on the beach,
It gets so sticky in the heat, if you know what I mean

Sunshine makes me feel like a good day's comin',
(come on baby, take me out to an island!)
Summer takes me back, back to schoolin',
(yo man, Jamaica or A-lo-Ha-wai-an)

It's so salty by the sea, if you know what I mean,
They got some wicked scenary, it's the place to be,
It's like exquisite poetry, makin' time on the beach,
It gets so sticky in the heat, if you know what I mean

Sunshine makes me feel like a good day's comin',
(come on baby, let's go, the waves are breakin'!)
Summer takes me back, back to free love, yeah,
(I want to ride it, so let's all get freaky!)

Sunshine makes me feel like a new man,
(come on baby, you can feed me your lobster!)
Summer takes me back, back to groovin', yeah
(just give me love and my love won't cost ya!)

Note—Ok, so my first real band was not Popesoldier, but The Flying Lennys with my friend Paul Woodford and I on guitar, but we only ever played two house parties, but we did write this killer song in B-52s style. It only appears on my $50 & a Cigarette EP with legendary jazz giant Joe McBride on keys, the same “Joe” referred to in the Popesoldier and TDP song “Camille.”

This House of Love
©2001 B. Isbell

Papa was a pipe-fitter for a West Virginia mine,
And Uncle Joe was a power-man, he could string that 'lectric line,
Uncle Bob was a carpenter, he could build anything he saw,
And Uncle Terry was an artist, who just loved the cards he'd draw,

Well they all moved off about 20 years back and went on they're separate ways,
It's sad to see what it does to a man to watch his kinfolk move away,
And every day on a finer day I pray they'll meet again above,
As I watch my Mom reading to my kids in this house they built with love.

Serena was a waitress at the local Steak and Ale,
Her husband was a working man who could spin a monstrous tale,
And Cousin Roy used to sit and swing, and play me his guitar,
"til that pain-filled day her husband died in someone else's war,

Well after that Serena moved out and went off her separate way,
It's sad to see what it does to a girl to watch her lover pass away,
And every day on a finer day I pray they'll meet again above,
And I hope my friend, until that joyful day, finds a new home built with love.

And love is still the answer, love is all you need,
So gather 'round your family and sing this song with me.

Zimmerman crafted word pictures, while Woodrow spoke of guilt,
And Sally wore a nun's habit 'til the heat would make her wilt,
In a convent unconventional by our lowly earthbound view,
But love was taught, when oft it's not, and that's enough for me and you.

But after they all got their degrees and went on their corporate ways,
It's sad to see a community exchange their values out for pay,
And everyday on a finer day I pray they'll meet again above,
And I hope 'til then the nuns and poets win, and good works fill this house of love,
And I hope 'til then the nuns and poets win, and good works fill this house of love.

And love is still the answer, love is all you need,
And love is still the answer, love is all you need,
Repeat and Fade

Note—I actually do have an Uncle Bob who is a carpenter and an Uncle Terry,
and actually family and love are all you need, just ask Dylan and Guthrie.

This River Is My Friend
©2003 B. Isbell

Chorus:
This river is my friend y'all, this river is my friend,
It's waters sanctified my soul when I was only 10,
Washed away my troubles and washed away my sin,
And I sing, Hallelujah, this river is my friend.

Now when I went down to the river, thought I'd jump right in,
But a preacher man grabbed me by the arm and said "Boy, you want to live again?",
He said, "Now you don't have to worry, you don't even have to swim,
just sing 'Hallelujah, this river is my friend."
Repeat Chorus.

Now when I stepped out of that river, why everything looked the same,
But the preacher man said "That ain't so, 'cuz I've washed away your blame,
See there's a spirit in this river, gon'na make you live again,
If you say, 'Hallelujah, this river is my friend"
Repeat Chorus.

Now when I was young, I was told, God lives in everything,
and He's livin' in this river just as sure as I can sing,
Now you don't have to worry, just go ahead and jump right in,
Just sing, 'Hallelujah, this river is my friend."
Repeat Chorus.

Now when I go back to the river, to see my good, good friend,
Why I get naked with the Lord just to feel that peace again,
(His) love washed away my troubles and washed away all my sin,
So I sing, 'Hallelujah, this river is my friend."
Repeat Chorus.

Note—I wrote this on the banks of the Guadalupe river in just 30 minutes while attending the 2003 Kerrville Folk Festival and then performed it to the Texas and Tennessee songwriter circle and my friend Steve Gillette within 15 minutes after finishing it. It's my only southern gospel song, has a great backbeat, and the Lord already knows what we all look like naked.

Thursday Night
©2007 B. Isbell

Another Thursday night round here,
Break out the whiskey and the beer,
Let's get this party started,
And fix the broken-hearted,
On a Thursday night, …. Another Thursday night round here

When life beats you down,
And troubles are near,
Hope you'll remember,
All the fun you're going to have … on …

Another Thursday night round here,
Break out the whiskey and the beer,
And listen to that sound,
My friends are laying down,
On a Thursday night, …. Another Thursday night round here

All week long,
We got a party going on,
But ain't nothing better to wash your troubles away … than …

Another Thursday night round here,
Break out the whiskey and the beer,
And if you can pass that test,
Go ahead & give the crowd your best,
On a Thursday night, ….
Another Thursday night round here,
Another Thursday night round here,
Just listen to that sound,
My friends are laying down,
And God I feel so … blessed …
To be playin', … to be playin' …. with the best …
On a Thursday night round here, …
On a Thursday night round here, …
On a Thursday night round here …

Note—If you're a performing songwriter, you know what this is about. I wrote this about the Thursday night open mic at Galileo in OKC, but it could be about any good open mic or jam.

Train Song
©2003 B. Isbell

Train, Train, won't you take me home?
Back to Oklahoma, back where I belong.
And Train, don't forget about me,
I got places to go, I got someone to be.
And Train, don't you take too long,
To carry me back home.

Train, Train, won't you take these blues,
But leave me my guitar, my smoke and my booze?
And Train, come and take my mind,
Won't you ease this 'ol pain on down the line?
And Train, come and take me home,
I know it won't be long.

Train, Train, in such misery,
Can you save my soul with a cup of tea?
And Train, fly me away,
Take me to a world, where the bastards pay.
And Train, I hear you comin' on, to carry me back home.

And Train, I hear you comin' on, to carry me back home (2x)

Train, Train, won't you take me home?
Back to Little Missie, the only one I love.
And Train, don't forget about me,
I got places to go, I got someone to be.
And Train, come and take me home,
I know it won't be long.
And Train, I hear you comin' on,
To carry me back home.

Note—High energy uptempo country rock. It's on The Good Woman Waltz cd. Great Charlie Daniels style fiddle vs. guitar battle. On the record, it's in the key of E, but I now perform it in F sharp and wish I had recorded it in that key; makes my vocals so much more powerful, beautiful and edgy. It's the only track on that cd I wish I could redo my vocals, because the musical performance on that track is absolutely killer. Oh, and it's about my love for Oklahoma too.

Vice-Presidential Blues
©2005 B. Isbell

Hey now everybody, remember you elected me,
My homies call me Big Dick, I got a big house out in D.C.,
I've got big oil interests and a lot of rich, rich friends,
They give me all their money for my political ends,
So be careful what you say to me or you might lose a little face,
Remember now, I'm the Vice-President of these here United States.

I've got power and influence, I got my face on your TV,
I'm politically correct now, don't you disagree with me,
I just might take you hunting, grab your whiskey, beer and guns,
By George I love to shoot things just for politics or fun,
So be careful what you say to me or you might lose a little face,
Remember now, I'm the Vice-President of these here United States,
And I've got the Vice-Presidential, shot my lawyer in the face, blues.

Now everyone hates lawyers and you know what Shakespeare said,
So let's go on down to main street, we can bang some in the head,
And when the cops come calling, we can cover up that news,
Dispose of all the evidence and emasculate the truth,
And if we get arrested and they try to put us in our place,
I'll tell 'em, "hey now, I'm the Vice-President of these here United States,"
And I've got the Vice-Presidential, shot my lawyer in the face, blues,
Yeah, I've got the Vice-Presidential, shot my lawyer in the face, blues!

Note—I mean really. The rest of us would have probably been prosecuted or at least sued for negligence. Then there's that whole Valerie Plame CIA agent leak thing. He did it, and it's a felony and betrayal of national secrets no less. Abuse of power is an ugly thing, don't you think.

(This is pure political opinion, not a statement of any fact of which I have personal knowledge).

As John Fogerty reminds us, I don't want Dick Cheney "pointing his cannons at me."

Warmonger
© 2007 B. Isbell

War-monger, war-monger, listen to me,
From the dark tinted windows of your black SUV,
Four thousand dead, I say how many more,
You say you want peace, but you fund it like war.

Executive orders, they can't hide the truth,
And it used to be dyin' was covered like news,
War-monger, war-monger, wants nothing said,
No pictures of coffins, no tears for the dead.

If I had all the money they've spent on this war,
I'd build lots of shelters & national stores,
Where all of our basics were covered for free,
War-monger, war-monger, listen to me.

Families are cryin' and our boys are dyin,'
Can you hear all the tears that you've caused by your lyin'?
War-monger, war-monger, are you afraid?
Of history's judgment on your death parade.

War-monger, tell me what price must we pay,
To secure all the freedoms you've taken away,
Secular hatred, a religious man's war,
Bring the troops home 'fore you kill anymore.

War-monger, war-monger, listen to me,
From the dark tinted windows of your black SUV,
Four thousand dead, I say how many more,
Bring the troops home 'fore you kill anymore (3x).

Note—Speaking of political opinion … they sold us the Iraq war on a false premise, I think a knowingly false or at least knowingly weak factual basis, and are saddling us with trillions in national debt; but, hey Democrats might raise taxes to balance the budget or spend money on social programs that might improve our lives, oh my. And they act like we are the ones who are irresponsible. If they just complied with the will of the vast majority of Americans this war would be over. Democracy?

Watch Over Me
©2001 B. Isbell

I was standing in my front yard, looking down my street,
and I could see my future, roll away from me,
And I said Lord, please, watch over me.

I was walking a long hallway, did not know where it would lead,
My path was none to follow, 'til she doubled-back on me,
And I said Lord, please, watch over me.
Watch me in the mornings, Watch me all night long,
Yeah, Lord, please, watch over me.

I was walking through an alley, ... three men over to the right,
I could hear their spirits' voices, ... could not tell which one was right
And I said Lord, please, watch over me.
Lord, please, watch over me.

Then I heard an angel answer, ... she called on out to me,
Said,"Son, you better hurry, ... someplace you're s'pose to be"
And I said Lord, please, watch over me.
Watch me in the mornings, Watch me all night long,
Yeah, Lord, please, watch over me,
Lord, please, watch over me.

I was standing on the mountain, ... thought I might take a leap,
and if I hit the bottom, ... would you come and rescue me?
And I said Lord, please, watch over me,
And I said Lord, please, watch over me.
Watch me in the mornings, Watch me all night long,
Yeah, Lord, please, watch over me,
Lord, please, watch over me.

Note—I sing this song to myself every time I drive home after a gig. Really, it works.

When It All Comes Down
©2000 B. Isbell

You can be President, or you can be the fool
You can be the money man, or you can be his tool
You can be anything that you heart desires
You can even be a fireman putting out your fires
(but) When it all, ... when it all comes down
Where will you be when it all comes down

You can be an innocent, happy with your gruel
or you could be a doctor (yeah), if you can pay the school
You can be an astronaut, and fly me to the moon
I suppose you could even take a trip and never leave your room
(but) When it all, ... when it all comes down
What will you be when it all comes down, ... when it all comes down

You can be a baseball coach, or date Amanda Pete,
You could even be the jewels I've known for 20,000 leagues
You can be a circus clown, if you don't mind the pay
You could even be a heretic, if you('ve) got a lot to say
(but) When it all, ... when it all comes down
Where will you be when it all comes down
(but) When it all, ... when it all comes down
What will you be when it all comes down, ... when it all comes down
(yeah) Who will you be when it all comes down
(yeah) Who will you be when it all comes down
(yeah) Who will you be when it all comes down.

Note—I wrote this song to my nephew Clayton. But it applies to all of us. Good songs usually do.

Audio Versions of My Original Songs

Post by roxybeast » February 18th, 2008, 4:16 pm

Hey Studio 8ers:

I wanted to share some of my musical compositions with y'all. This year, 2 songs made the finals of the very prestigious 2008 USA Songwriting Competition and another was a TAXI Top 10 pick in 7/08.

These are some press reviews I received in 2008:
* With “innovative tunes that exemplify the braggadocios-ness that is Texas music,” transgender alt-rock singer-songwriter Beth Isbell “redefines ‘dark’ as a plausible blend of the psychedelic and the acoustic.” Lucky Boyd, My Texas Music
* "As a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist, Beth Isbell certainly leaves her mark wherever she performs. Her unique mix of blues, rock, and folk music as well as her passionate performances have won over audiences across the Midwest. Enjoy a special performance from an artist who truly is one of a kind." Oklahoma Film & Music Office, Best Events Guide, 4/08

I've released 4 CDs officially. A folk/country CD of 10 original compositions in 2005 entitled "The Good Woman Waltz." The CD was recorded in Nashville and features a great producer, some top flight Nashville studio cats (including some that have recorded and played with Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts, etc.), and some really nice original songs.
Title Cut went #1 country in Texas & was a TAXI Top 10 pick in 7/08.

The second CD was re-released in 2008 and is in the totally opposite musical direction. It is my psychedlic original rock musings. "The Dead Prophets: Bonus Edition" and features 10 original rock compositions with my former Dallas band The Dead Prophets. The lead guitarist in that band was/is truly amazing. My favorite songs.

I also released 2 solo acoustic rock CDs in 2008. Live @ Blue Moon (2008--7 songs) and The Awakening EP (2008--3 songs).

jaja, count me between your fans!!!!!!!!! :D (I didn´t bite my nails in the last four months, another factor that sure is contributing to my habitual erratic typing...!!!!!!!!)

Mountain King is just perfect!!!!!!!!. I wandered to the sites and listening the songs, looked to the photos and read an entrevista to Mike the guitarrist. You three are very talented artists!!!!! do a tour in this side of the world and I promise you to buy a ticket for the concert!!!!!!!!

The Dead Prophets

Arcadia --

Yeah, Mountain King was born when one day Mike started into that solo while we luckily had tape rolling and then I grafted a composition I had been working on (Mountain Wind - which is on my Live @ Blue Moon cd) as you hear in the middle to give the song some structure. Totally cool that we caught the "moment of inspiration" on tape. Classic RockNRoll.

I'll let Mike know you dig it, and also wanted to let you know that if you like Mike's playing he has his own website and a new solo project cd called "intodown - Brave New World" ... http://www.myspace.com/intodown

It's a fun band and if we ever get out your way, we'll definitely let you know. In the meantime, our newly remastered cd The Dead Prophets: Bonus Edition is ready and I'm going to pick them up in Dallas next week, ... and then they will be available to order from MyTexasMusic later in March 08 ... http://www.mytexasmusic.com/deadprophets

Peace,
B

Gosh Lily, interesting story, but not sure I understand why you posted it here ... these are just a collection of original song lyrics ... nothing dishonest or misleading ... and yes they are original. :)
