Mom's Sarah Did Harass Mom ... & "Palin"dromes

Mom's Sarah Did Harass Mom & other "Palin"dromes
"When Sarah's mother-in-law, a highly respected member of the community and experienced manager, ran for Mayor, Sarah refused to endorse her."
--Wasilla Resident Anne Kilkenny, in her letter dated Aug. 31, 2008
Now women and their mother-in-laws don’t always have to get along, and, as we all know, often don’t; but such disagreements are usually, or at least should be, kept within the family. In this case, Sarah Palin took her animosity for her mother-in-law public by refusing to endorse her for Mayor of Wasilla, the same position Palin herself had held. Which seems to reinforce the growing reports that Palin engages in political cronyism – making important public policy and governmental staffing & management decisions based on purely personal reasons. Having such a person a heartbeat away from the Presidency should literally scare the hell into you, … unless you’re her best friend.
The mother-in-law of John McCain's new running mate Sarah Palin, enjoys hearing Barack Obama speak and hasn't decided which way she'll be voting in the upcoming presidential election the New York Daily News reported Sunday.

"I'm not sure what [Sarah] brings to the ticket other than she's a woman and a conservative. Well, she's a better speaker than McCain," Faye Palin told the New York Daily News. "People will say she hasn't been on the national scene long enough."
--US Magazine, August 31, 2008 http://www.usmagazine.com/sarah-palins- ... rack-obama
I guess turnabout is fair play, or maybe Faye actually has personal knowledge of her daughter-in-law’s cronyism and backwards views.

According to Webster's a palindrome is "a word, verse, or sentence that is the same when read backward or forward." According the Karl Rove election strategy dictionary a Palin-drome is "trying to repackage & push forward old backward failed political ideas by re-presenting them through a beautiful siren designed to fool the public & lure voters to their economic, intellectual, energy, environmental, and foreign policy deaths." Or, as voters should define it, “the same tired old failed political ideas whether presented forward or backward.” Or maybe just another "backward political idea pushed forward again.”

Which, I guess is sort of like John McCain saying “you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig” … right Hillary? And to McCain’s staffers: NEWSFLASH most people think that pigs are actually much cuter than pit bulls, with or without lipstick.

The Republicans have been quick to misquote and spin every innocent statement into a full blown attack ad. Masters of diversion. Maybe if we sling enough mud, it will get in the public's eyes and blind them from seeing the truth: we can’t defend our pathetic performance!

According to Webster's palingenesis means "a transformation from one state to another; a metamorphosis." This political season, Palin-genesis means "claiming you were against the bridge to nowhere when you actually were in favor of it until it became obvious it was politically dead; saying you’re against earmarks when you liberally accepted them in your prior positions and even hired lobbyists to obtain more; putting lipstick on a bulldog that routinely engages in political cronyism and calling her a reformer." If she is elected, I sure hope the secret service takes her for daily walks … before the rest of us step in it.

According to Webster's palinode means "Originally, a poetical recantation; a piece in which the poet recants the invectives contained in another piece; hence, a recantation in general." And interestingly, that tells you all you need to know about Palin – you pretty much can’t believe any ode she delivers, it will all be recanted if she is elected.

And, of course, we all know what im-Palin-g means … I’d rather not let Sarah Palin do so to our civil rights and the nation’s economic future.

Peace,

My favorite McCain quote of the day: "If elected, I will veto every beer ..." TRUE QUOTE ... now, that's one sure way to lose an election ... you can decide if he actually misspoke or not ... after all he is 72 and reportedly never drinks alcohol per his family--Boston Globe 3/8/08
