When you add a full band, my singing often morphs to add the passionate delivery and craziness of a Janis Joplin or Jim Morrison. But it all starts with great songs delivered with pure passion!

The first time I played "Happy" live, a girl in the audience told me "that's the best song I've ever heard!"
The funk-rock piece "Magic" has already won an Auddy award as a potential Platinum hit. "Ruby" just rocks! "Creep" is for me, because I feel that way sometimes. "American" is the Anti-American Idol song ... and more. My personal favorite is "Work," which is about songwriting, or even about relationships. Every song on this psychedelic rock CD featuring the amazing Mike Clark on lead electric guitar, Beth on vocals & acoustic rhythm guitar, & Carol Dierking on drums [she now tours with Alligator records recording artist Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King] was recorded LIVE ... the first four tracks were recorded with a portable 8 track live during rehearsal & the last four tracks were tape recorded live at one of the band's shows at Muddy Waters in Dallas, TX [so we hope you feel, as we do, the nice performance overcomes the poorer quality of the tape recordings]. The 2008 officially released version of this CD includes two bonus tracks but I've just included the 8 live recordings actually by The Dead Prophets here.
