Mom's had another stroke. My co-worker got rushed to the hospital and they found cancerous masses. I'm going to the hospital to visit him this afternoon. I'm back and forth to go see Mom every day.

Happy New Year.

Thank you, my friends.

Just got back from seeing my co-worker in the hospital. He's feisty as ever! This is a good sign! He's a fighter.

Mom is a handful. We're getting more help. We'll make it through.

I appreciate your kind thoughts and support. :)

Sorry to hear about your mother Doreen I hope she will be ok. I hope you are being careful. I mean driving. So much on your mind it can distract you.

Thanks, judih and jack .... it's been a very long day ... Mom was doing better yesterday but not as well tonight. I'm waiting on a call to see if I need to go there again tonight. I was just there this afternoon for several hours. Every time I tell myself this isn't easy ... for me and my sister... I think how much harder it is for my Mom.

Tonight?
How are the road conditions? Is he snow all gone? Take good care.

Keep us posted I will do my best praying. I don't even know what to pray to anymore. But I pray anyway.

trapped in situations
one breath at a time
hoping for scraps of relief
a warm cup of something
a small joke at a needed time
look for graffiti flowers
in a necessary corridor

My best wishes are with Dorothy. She means a great deal to me. If you can talk to her, give her my love. My love to you too, and strength.

jack.. thanks for the kind thoughts. They mean a lot.

judih ... I loved your poem... thank you very much!

clay ... she thinks you're very special, too. thanks for the supportive & caring words.

.......

they're admitting her to the hospital tonight. I'll go visit tomorrow. My sister is an angel. Literally.

have to go see my co-worker tomorrow at the hospital, too. Two hospitals, one day. We do what we can do.

i'm exhausted and nursing an eye infection. Life is a lot of fun sometimes. ;) lol ... oh well ... "these things, too, shall pass"

(quite literally in the case of my mom ... and hopefully not too soon for my friend ... we'll see... another decade coming up... we never know what's in store for us!)

peace 'n' light

Not kind
Selfish

Very grateful you got a sister there with you.

Masses, oh lordy my sister went through three months of medical hell with those. Everything turned out beautiful— nothing there. But for test after test specialist after speacilist. One screwed medical office after another, tests misplaced, wrong tests ordered, on and on one snafu after another I forget all the details thankfully.

I hope he has one doctor on his side who still practices the art as well as the science of medicine. Or at least one office manager somewhere who will keep the ducks in a row for him or a good friend.

keep in touch thanks.

Cecil...

She had a stroke on Saturday (the day after Christmas) and another stroke on top of that on Wed night. She's in the hospital and is getting stronger and will be released tomorrow (Monday) to go stay on the rehab unit in the assisted living building where she lives.

The second stroke was actually a continuation of the first, the doctor who read the brain MRI scan said, located in the same spot.

She's been having repeated TIAs (small strokes) for the past month or so. I think she had 4 of them before these hit. This is a sign that a real big one is coming, they told us.

She's very old and has lived a long, wonderful life. I pray she doesn't have too much suffering.

Too much information maybe. I'm oversharing. :) Sorry.

Thanks for updating me, Dor'... I know how difficult times like this are, having gone thru it some years back. So many of us, folks in our age group, have parents whose lives are slowing down, ready to pass the torch to others. It's something we all have gone thru and will go thru ourselves with our own kids or relatives.

Seriously, keep your sense of humor sharpened... it can be a godsend when times become overwhelming. But you know that!

Love ya', kiddo... take care and tell your mom this guy on S8 asked you to tell her "Howdy, Dorothy! Thanks for your Doreen!" :)
