Have you seen the new summer TV series called "Persons Unknown"?

Sorta Twilight Zonish. A group of people find themselves in a ghost town ... well, there are SOME other people there like the guy who runs the hotel and the people who work at the restaurant, etc.... but they don't know who they are. They wake up one day and they're in this ghost town and they can't leave and creepy things happen.

I like it! Recommended.

What about that little thriller "Happy Town"? I thought that was good
but I heard it may be cancelled.

I haven't seen it.... I like thrillers! I'll look it up and see when it's on so I can see it before they cancel it. ;)

thanks, Steve!

Studio Eight, by my reckoning, was officially six years old
on the internet on July 10, 2010. Is that correct?

Yep, the site was started on Sat Jul 10, 2004 2:30 pm, Eastern Time. It was officially 6 years old almost 3 months ago. Wow!

This may actually be considered longevity for such a small little cafe on a side road off the internet superhighway.

I think we should have an in-person celebration in 2 years in July .... 2012... when we will be EIGHT years old.

July 10, 2012.

Mark your calendars. Maybe it will be a week-long retreat. Or 4 days or something. I'm not even kidding. I'm really serious. Didja think I was kidding?

There will be poetry, dancing, live music, good food, and maybe even tiki-tiki lanterns. The ladies could dress in hula skirts for one of the caribbean routines. We'll have some live poetry, music & comedy performances (you are invited to participate), gallery art shows and receptions, and just generally hanging out letting our hair down, too. Matter of fact, maybe we should schedule the BIG EIGHT event in the caribbean. Hmmm.... Aruba would be nice.

Oh and we need a Studio8 cheer...

8-8-8
Ain't it Great!
Rahrah sisboombah!
8-8-8
Don't be late!
Blahblahblahblahblah.

Whatchya say crazy 8 cats?

Wanna rock da casbah?

........

Thanks to all for being here. I was wondering if I was alone in this world until I created this site. I'm sorta not even kidding.

I'd be tempted,
but I'm terrible at planning,
I more so decide towards the last minutes,
but does it catch my interest,
yes, very much.

Dressing up and letting my hair down.
You got me.

But, a lot can change in two years though,
so couldn't be positive if I can.
I'd like to.

Dame... it probably wouldn't be planned until the day before we do it. I don't like putting things off. LOL! But I got my hula skirt!

hehe... I can't afford to go to Aruba. At our 5 year anniversary (actually on year 4 we talked about a 5 year anniversary party), we had a thread to talk about it and I was going to have it at my house. I live 20 miles west of DC and I thought we could all go downtown and do some poetry readings and hang out at my house and read poetry and play music. Jack also suggested Muleskiin(?) Mule-something-or-other Texas. Other locations were suggested.

Of course it never materialized because I didn't have the funds to throw such a party and all kindsa other shit happened but hey, I stuck the idea in the back of wide-brimmed sun hat and may pick it up again one day.

Hey, in 2 years, Studio8 might not even be here. Who the heck knows?

Fly by the seat of your pants, that's my motto. Every day's a different dream.

Happy Anniversary to US!

Hope you're having a grand weekend. I love your poetry. Did I ever tell you that?
