I know the statue isn't anything new, but I took this photo a while back, and I've always liked it. Its a replica of Rodin's Le Penseur (The Thinker) outside of the Detroit Institute of Arts. Hey, I love Detroit. I love art.

do you know what? It´s not the Rodin´s pensador at the entrance of the Castagnino Museum!!. Today I looked at it from the bus in my daily travel to work... (it´s incredible my conviction and my lack of observation sometimes!!!). Where I saw all this time the Pensador in fact there were to big other Rodin´s statues. I guess they are replicas too. Mmm... I guess they are Rodin´s replicas...!
Where there is one it seems it´s near the Congreso in Buenos Aires. I found a beautiful photo of it in Wikimedia Commons, I tried to make a link but it didn´t work.

A Rodin sculpture that meant a lot to me once upon a time.

It is at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington DC.

hey Deetroit
Motor City shakedown
scenes of ingenuity
scenes of woe
seen 'em all
good to terrible
yet love abides
cause Casey struck out
then fell in love
and the ghost of a small boy
floats above Woodward Avenue
wondering why?
i'm on a survival mission
yo ho ho an a bottle of rum om

are they by Rodin?
workers?
something mythic?
tired fighters?
somehow tense meditators?
They are one in front of the other sitting in pilars at both sides of the Castagnino Museum in Independencia Park
