				stuck inside of mudville
with th nowheresville blues again
got so sedentary
may well nary travail again
used ta be a vagabond all my life
now i am settled down with a wife!
we go up the road a bit just ta git outa town
have a little whoopdedoo and act like a clown
oh yeah this summer we're gonna go see my dear old mom
but my vagabonding days are over
an there's no place like
home!

last eve coming home from work
swooped down from the freeway
onto fifth avenue a favorite place for vagabonds to supplicate
saw a mendicate standing there with sign that read
"HOMELESS NEED HELP"
i swerved over
his eyes were rolled up inside his head
i said "here ya go, amigo"
was gonna hand him a couple dollars,
he was so forlorn,
i said "wait a minute"
and floated him a twenty
from my Mercedes in the land of plenty
his eyes opened wide and stammerred "gee thanks!"
the "wally" was silent
he is the unknown little brother
if lucky has a day laborer's job
as i slumber in my aiir cooled abode
feeling grumpy cause i won't hit the road
sail on ship of state
bon voyage

				singing home sweet home
downtown baghdad
walking the streets of Gaza
wailing at The Wall

I have not had a couch in years
but I keep a mattress behind my bed room door
And Ram Das said some old guru said never make freinds with an elephant trainer unless you got room for an elephant in your back yard.
Mercedes classy wheels
Me an my sister try to go see mom once a year
Never too late for a mother's love
Son's get off so easy
My mother always gentle on my mind
My poor baby sister still mourning
Roll on daddy jimbo

				Mothers>>>
mine only broke my heart twice
Not her favorite son just her baby boy
Not much you can do about mom except wait her out
I hope you get to give her a hug.

				arrgh
dead men tell no tales
shiver me timbers!
teetering on the brink of kitsch
a tatterred sailor
walks the plank
his eyes rolled up inside his head
looking for mercy
the morning after
he got graced
on the path with heart
with death aways following

los libros vienen y van
(la mesita, la estación)
de vuelta de las vacaciones
teléfono descompuesto de enero
(hay más versiones ahora)
la insistencia de las cosas
books come & go
(little table station)
back from vacations
January dead telephone
(there are more versions now)
the insistence of things
