A hot afternoon in Tel Aviv

Bagels, she said.
Bagels? i answered doubtfully.
Yes, she said. New York style.
Made with city water. Amidst steam spurting sidewalks.
Mmmm, i recalled.
With a shmear, she added dreamily.
Shmear? ah, yes, i said. uh, a shmear of cream cheese (i had to check my listening comprehension)
Oh yeah, she said. Just cream cheese. No lox required. Maybe a tomato slice.
If you're feeling healthy, i empathized.
Mmm, she said.
And so, that's what happened. And here is how i looked when undergoing this nostalgic trip back to a New York city style bagel.

it tasted like a smooth cream cheesed, slightly tomatoed journey through a whole wheat soft and then a crunch...the chew blended it into a fabulous tel aviv/new york city deja vu yeah.

a deja vu yeah makes everything doubly delicious.
