how's your mother, constantine?

This is Constantine's artlog. He posted his poems in his own artlog forum for several years. He named the forum "Constantinople" and described it as "A byzantine journey through life's labyrinth."

how's your mother, constantine?

how's your mother, constantine?
she built a church at jesus' tomb
on the side of the holy mountain
i mentioned her just the other day
she flashed into my mind as i was writing my mother
who i have no mercy for now, using skillful means
guided by the first prophet, kwan yin, out of china
she is the originator of taoism and savior of compassion
from the old times and survived the sword by geography
mountaintops sky islands of communities natural sanctuaries
beyond the mongols from the vast asian steppes
that fertile breeding ground that also produced the goths
my ancesters went across northern europe
met the romans at the rhine where they had been held back
by the franks, descendents of the vandals, the first unholy wave
of westward sword bearing horseriders who swept away before them
the old cultures eternal peaceloving clans and settlements
and swept across to north africa and claimed morocco
tunisia algeria and libya for themselves whilst we goths were converted to christianity along with the romans
and and we all became the unholy white imperialist christians we are now today
you greeks had the advantage of a prior dimension of intellectual rationality and so tended to be more in line with jesus' idea of living well by the covenant and in north africa there have been no colonial powers abroad, just resisting foreign invaders from the north, their old vandal cousins, the franks, who had been corrupted by roman catholick christianity
and yet underneath it all, drenched with blood, is the word and those meek ones not seeking power for themselves or a haughty inflammation
gett the message, the covenant to do good, man, what it the problem with us anyhow
and so glad i am unbrainwashed now

show no mercy
skillfully
advance!
