melt

This is Constantine's artlog. He posted his poems in his own artlog forum for several years. He named the forum "Constantinople" and described it as "A byzantine journey through life's labyrinth."

melt

Post by constantine » May 8th, 2008, 3:31 pm

you feel it in the spleen
and in the ends of your hair
hitting your soul like guilt
like love, desperate and anxious
i wait for this resurrection
i sit in the tavern and wait
like a fool waits, immobile
hung up
full of maybe this time, but
settling for maybe next
if you could look into my soul
you would see amazing things
you would see two-headed madness
bearded ladies dancing with eunuchs
acts of mayhem, vendetta, and remorse
you would see triumph and capitulation
valor and cowardly betrayal and
they seethe within me
and they want out so bad
like grass beneath snow, beneath ice
they wait for the big melt to unleash its waters
in some holy inundation,
i want to dance and spill my guts
i want to look you squarely in the eye
and leave no doubt
that i am just like you
that i am completely different
