third girl from the left

This is Constantine's artlog. He posted his poems in his own artlog forum for several years. He named the forum "Constantinople" and described it as "A byzantine journey through life's labyrinth."

third girl from the left

Post by constantine » July 21st, 2008, 10:11 am

prone to emotional entanglements
of a fevered, imaginary kind
it's like there's a theatre in my head
like it's all going on upstairs
in the balcony of the balcony
photons simmer on the silver screen
how many women have i loved
the waitress, the librarian,
the elevator girl,
jane in the treehouse -
cheetah was going nuts
i love them all and always will
somewhere
there is a woman in the dark
who understands me
likes how i carry myself
my dark, brooding features
my winning smile
how many women have i loved
there's no telling
extras and walk ons
the third girl from the left
with the blue eyes
the big sleepers
that have seen a lot
that know the score
but don't care for addition
i like the way her knee bends
as if swept away by the pleasure
and passion of the kiss
that settles everything
doesn't matter baby
the troubles of a lifetime forgotten
the anger and frustration
all the shitty things i did
gone bye-bye
i can see it in your eyes
a hundred feet away
fifty feet high
if she knew me she would love me
she loves me she loves me not
fifty years ago she would've loved me
but i was just a baby then
