This is Constantine's artlog. He posted his poems in his own artlog forum for several years. He named the forum "Constantinople" and described it as "A byzantine journey through life's labyrinth."

drifter

sorry
i was thinking out loud
lost in the vagaries of memory
drifting hither and yon
ahh, the things that i see
the stories...
the women!
the stories about women
i like women
they're different somehow
i can't quite put my finger on it
the memory, alas, eludes me
but in time, i'm sure it will come back to me
for that is the way of the west
i've given it a lot of thought
oh, it's not like i studied it
i don't have a von bismark degree
i'm not certified by the goddam board
like big daddy
you always throw that in my face
it really fires me the fuck up
lay off
scram, why don't you
get off my ass cloud gidget
take a ride on the a-train
drop me off in harlem
zat's rite
you heard me
harlem
the big h harlem
in the big ass apple
got to get away from whitey
she's bringin me down
lo lo
no go go
i ain't no ham n' egger
or crackerbarrel jerk off
i walk on the wild side
where ten to one is murder
gave it all i got
what more do you want
enough is enough
i've heard that one before
oh yeah
i've heard that one before
so what
