fell's point

This is Constantine's artlog. He posted his poems in his own artlog forum for several years. He named the forum "Constantinople" and described it as "A byzantine journey through life's labyrinth."

fell's point

they can buy the point
but they don't own it
can you buy the wind
can you purchase the sea
these noble streets
of douglass and poe
sailors, tradesmen, immigrants
brick upon brick
cobblestones laid
the muscle and
sweat of ages past
rebels and rails
against your monied ways

Do you remember the big 29th Division symbol painted on the north end of the Broadway market in Fells Point?

Do you remember the battle for Fells Point in the sixties and seventies when they were going to build the new harbor tunnell ramps through the neighborhood?

thank you, jack. i remember the battle - i met with scar members (an activist committe to stop the road) a few times . mikulski, the priest from holy rosary on chester st, other community residents - we met in a room at holy rosary to kick around ideas. the sign looks familiar, but i can't place it. probably forgot or was too young - i don't know. i miss fell's point alot .
