it's always the little things
a remnant of your code of honor
some last vestige, an appendix
or the tail bone, something
always something
everybody's got something
she must've asked me four times
want i should fix coffee, like
she needs my permission, my validation
fix it or shut up about it
what the hell does she want from me
anyway, i've seen smart guys
smarter than you, smarter than me
plan and figure every angle
split second timing, ducks
in a row, like at the shooting gallery
everything square in the sights
accounted for, only to take a hard fall
from the happiness boys
who see everything sooner or later
like vultures on the wire
waiting for the tip off
the deviation from the norm
the quirk like a bead of sweat
that rolls down your forehead into your eyes
just when you've got to see what you're doing
gumming it up, stripping the gears
until you're left holding the bag with your
dick in your hand and a smile on your face
wondering if you're still dreaming,
like you didn't know the answer to that one
asphalt jungle

O reason, reason, abstract phantom of the waking state, I had already expelled you from my dreams, now I have reached a point where those dreams are about to become fused with apparent realities: now there is only room here for myself.

It would be worth it, I for one would love to read it when you are done.
It feels like Athen's circa 431 BCE to me.
It has since November 22 1963.
Don't mind me I read The Birth of Tragedy on lsd. Kind of etched a love for the Greek Classical civilization on my brain. The sanest of people I think Nietzsche called them,

The tragedies of the Ancient Greeks fascinated Nietzsche. He felt that these dark but sublime works were some of the sanest – or as he put it ‘healthiest’ – achievements of mankind. In tragic art, the Greeks had been able to look ‘with bold eyes into the dreadful destructive turmoil of so-called world history as well as into the cruelty of nature’
