slow burn

This is Constantine's artlog. He posted his poems in his own artlog forum for several years. He named the forum "Constantinople" and described it as "A byzantine journey through life's labyrinth."

slow burn

Post by constantine » October 15th, 2010, 10:31 pm

tempest in a crockpot
simmer, slow burn
got to sort things out
got to do something
a person has to do something
hit the bar down the street
crammed with stupid people
giving me stupid looks
like i'm from mars or something
fuck them, maybe
i am from mars
ain't none of their business anyway
buy a beer
it's the custom in these parts
and parts is parts in these parts
i don't even like beer, but
it eases their suspicions
the barmaid doesn't like me
i don't know why
can't seem to hear what i say
ever
nobody else seems to have trouble hearing me
she seems to hear everybody else just fine
i feel like slapping her dismal silly ass mug
can you hear me now
can you fucking hear me now
bitch
the bouncer is looking for an excuse
blood in the water
screw him, fucking jerk
with his fat greasy hands
twitching, like they have a mind of their own
i hit the street, up warner
down clifton
and the car people sneer and gawk and giggle
like i'm a piece of amusing shit
i'd kill them if i could get away with it
but where does it end
there's millions of em
the place is crawling
i could drain a thousand phasers
and they'd still keep coming
like a billion chinese walking
single file into the ocean
it never ends
it never fucking ends
