i like women

This is Constantine's artlog. He posted his poems in his own artlog forum for several years. He named the forum "Constantinople" and described it as "A byzantine journey through life's labyrinth."

i like women

Post by constantine » May 24th, 2011, 6:15 pm

i'm used to living alone
but i'm not resigned to it
i like women - their company
the way way they look and act
the way they remind me of mom
sort of like a profane mom
a mom devoid of familial context
a secular mom, as opposed
to a theocratic or ecumenical mom,
being of working class background
i envision her as female production unit
that performs a sociological function
a gender-based complementarity
that enhances productivity
within social and economic institutions
that are but extensions of environmentally-
based behavior patterns in the first place!
the sex is just icing on the cake
the cake is the most important thing
without the cake, icing is unnecessary
mere frippery! an adornment
though it could be argued that with the cupcake
icing becomes the raison d'etre of the cake's existence
the cake is but a medium to convey the confection,
with the muffin, however
the issue is cleverly side-stepped

I am a hell of a nice guy, and I love cupcakes too.

As Good as it Gets, Jack Nicholson flick, the scene with his agents receptionnist. "Mr Udall how do you write women so well?"
A great movie, maybe his best, Helen Hunt, what an actress, she disapears into a role.

As I get ready to for my last dispatch I think about my life and karma. I never hit a child and I never hit a woman except for one pulled pigtail and one time attempt at matricide by suicide. But by now you are probablly sick of me writing about that.

If not for vaginas what a lonely world this would be.

Nice poem dino

maybe you are setting your sites too low. I know nothing about the poetry bizness but I think you should be submitting your work to the New Yorker or other glossy mags instead of obscure arty farty journals :? I won't ever be able to use an emoticon without thinking about Lightning Rod.
my mind wanders
well you know I hope you wined up famous and just a little pudgy.

it was nice work dino
a secular mom

I sidestep the issue with tomatoes

I can live on tomato sandwiches on toast with a little low fat mayo

I like tomatoes although you seldom hear a woman refereed to as one anymore

always flashing back to a time in my life when women owned me and I got my first hand job.

That's what silent woman told me too.
but by then the romance was already over
her perfect lover had turned into a perfect fool

the picture is of:
me,my aunt and Gertrude Stein on the front stoop of my grandmother's house in Baltimore around 1945

your avatar looks so familiar. Is it one of The Dead End Kids?

1444 Eastern Ave, corner of Caroline St. My aunt, me and my grandmother who reminds me of Gertrude Stein for some reason. If you could imagine Gertrude Stein as a barely literate Polish peasant woman.

when you are sold out of grape Nehi soda. Or so I heard her tell a customer who wanted to buy a grape Nehi soda.
