paper trail

This is Constantine's artlog. He posted his poems in his own artlog forum for several years. He named the forum "Constantinople" and described it as "A byzantine journey through life's labyrinth."

paper trail

Post by constantine » February 11th, 2013, 12:03 pm

it sits there, a cold fish-eye
what words could i possibly use
to satisfy, to fill its gaping maw?

in the belly of this ichthyosaurus
is a killing ground, a vast necropolis
fetuses swimming in formaldehyde

perhaps

they will resurface somewhere in the future
awaiting dissection, next to the pickled frog
careful, you've nicked the alimentary canal

hold it under water thusly, observe
the methane bubbling to the surface
even in error, knowledge can be gained

why do poets poem
writers write
painters paint
I think, or my opinion is they do it
for the relief of man's estate.
thank you masked stranger

That was the pope that was.
I don't know what to think anymore, well maybe few random thoughts floating around in my head
Drones, asteroids, sequestration, right wing commie plots, monsters from the id, and hydro.

Glad I took an interests in the arts now that I am in my golden years. It keeps me interested in continuing on with this tragicomedy which is my life.

Starting to get over my creepy feeling of decrepitude. You probably have no idea what it feels like to be fifty pounds over weight at the tender age of seventy two. I been eating better the last few days, so many people here I started hoarding food. Kind of ashamed to buy myself a steak while everyone else is eating cheep hot dogs. So I am going to establish a steak night, where I buy 15 bucks worth of steak for every one to feast on but buy a couple more to stash in the freezer for myself

You living alone or with people?

Living with my sister and her family, same here cool but strange.
Like a hippie commune here.

My new tag line from Joyce, it resonates with me but at some level that I can hardly understand/articulate. I explore consciousness, dimly aware of something beyond, "the not quite conscious stuff" I mnaz called it

seems to me that is what poetry does for me, reaches beyond the words on paper, below the event horizon of awareness. That was Freud's bitch/complaint, no matter where he wandered his thoughts on consciousness , a poet had been there first, everything he thought was expressed first and best by a poet.

you put down a paper trail
I follow like Hansel and Gretel
thanks

Maybe stability is over rated. Oh sure we want stability in far away countries like Syria or Egypt. But we yankee rugged individualists don 't need no stinkin stability here in the land of the brave. We like living on the edge of sequestration. Sometimes I can hardly wait for the another asteroid to hit congress.

I got wheels and sometimes when I cross over interstate 10 I get the urge to head out west too.

"like a wheel rolling free out of its own center"

my wheel is out of balance
i wobble around on weak knees
but I am still living so everything still okay for now.

Have you ever seen the Kesey Bus Movie?
this was on the sound track

all the best alleys are in Austin
they tore down the alley behind the Alamo and put up a parking lot.

some people remember the alamo
some remember the maine
I say fuck um all
fifty four forty or fight
that's my motto
