summer is boring?

I'm bored, Mom.
Well, go swimming.
I don't want to.
Go to the park. Meet your friends.
I don't want to. I'm bored.
Well, go fly a kite.
Mom, that's NOT funny!

Summer is missing
missing your routine
missing your friends
missing your loves

summer ponders the next year
and why does it begin in the Fall?

Summer is a girl with freckles
I miss her so

in typical response,
dad used to day:
"take a long walk off a short pier."
well, then, we'd rage
against the machine,
no longer bored-out-of-our minds

GREAT PHOTO ... and a *sigh* says it all~

There IS a boredom
to the summer
when bare feet need to find
sand to run the toes through~

so much nothing
so much time
endless time
hot, endless time
meals dot along the hours
too hot to eat
ice cream creates a peak
then evening falls
grass takes on the power of lush
time to lie in the grass
till the first insect
then more time
lots of time
sun never sets
lots and lots of hours
walking into the never setting sun
it takes minutes
then time stands still
sun falls into burgundy wine
sinks into reveries
so much time all mine

ah for th wisdom of a golden lady
in a young lady's heart
watching th summer
will it pass her by?

sometimes we argue too, at work
cheryl has to kiss me on my bald spot
if obama wins!
life in th jewel mines

what i told my wisconsin stepson
when yer young you get bored
when yer old
ya like being bored!

doreen! she's beautiful! that picture is a classic.

and you poem reminded me of a friend who, when the kids complained they were hungry (what's to eat? no i don't want that. what else is there?), she'd always say "rabbit's arse with syrup, but the syrup's finished" :P
