charm that knocks you down
energy that floods a photoshop
humour that sneaks into dead-ends, finding the door
the many faces of a woman of many graces
sometimes a nudge, (stilltruckin's pronunciation)
always irresistable
unceasingly full-minded
intentions on high
her kirilian photograph unbearably beautiful
friend to many an outcast (yay! outcasts)
warm welcome to all limping lisping poets
(who put an 's' in the word lisp?)
my legs carry me to studio 8
no matter what the hour
it's always a quiet spot
with that delicious hint of turpentine
i can stretch my ears
widen my perceptions
discover a hidden agenda
and a new corner of the planet
this is not a poem
but this is a birthday tribute
to doreen
my line breaks but my heart doesn't
thank you, doreen
your birthday is a good 21 to be

dear doreen,
here is my birthday serenade to you.
as i can't really sing, it's all visual -- just imagine a sound from my heart with the images!
may life continue to strike your chords and make them create music...
warm birthday hugs to you!

Happy Birthday, doreen!
I never really thought of this as a birthday tune before, but I think it applies. Hats off to Tennessee Ernie Ford.
(you don't look a day older than 54....)

smileGRL - you're a sweetheart.. thank you so much for the colorful, wonderful greeting and for also being so kind to me!
Lightning Rod.. i have no idea how that tune fits for a birthday tune but hey, what the heck.... thanks very much.... No matter the day, you take the stage! Good for you! And thanks for sharing my Dad's joke. "You're how old? Wow! You don't look a day older than [the age of the year before]." Haha! Dad was a card! I don't really usually announce my age, not that I'm embarrassed by it. I'm happy with my age. I'm 55 today. I was told the other day not to admit to anything older than 42, but then the guy was trying to pick me up so people say the darnedest things, right? Jason bought Alicia a bike when he was here recently and the clerk pulled an airport attendant scene and told her to go get her older sister to fill in the info on the discount card. Another salesmen. Life is rough in suburbia.
