skipping pebbles
with bended knees
making blue ripples
i wish i could freeze
this moment, so serene

skipping pebbles
scratching the surface
making them bounce
before they sink

ducks and drakes
making ripples
causing a stir

stone skimming

hop and
hop and hop

before they
quietly
sink

skippin pebbles down at th pond
at th edge of civilization
where beyond lay miles of scrub land prairie,
cactus, mesquite trees, strong big rabbits,
ruins of old ranch homes,
horse and cow skulls, crows,
buzzards, snakes,
wind, clouds, sky, peace,
all within a 10 minute trek
from home,
across th street
a little beyond,
was th pond,
cat fishin,
skinny dippin,
now all gone,
only the ghosts of memories,
and overgrown surburbia
around th pond,
choice home sites.

ain't skipped pebbles in a while
that's something to do for sure!
we got more sea shells than pebbles
maybe that's why
those northern shores
lotsa pebbles fer sure!
i'm on a survival mission
yo ho ho an a bottle of rum om
