I go to sleep and it never rains
My dog predicts hurricanes
She can smell a storm a mile away
That's all the news we have today
The lonesome friends of science say
The world will end most any day

I got myhands full between doctors appointments
the bleasings of longevity and forlorne rags of old age
I have not rode my bike in months
I have not read a book in a year
I don't trust my balance
another beautiful October day and the only things that keep me hanging on are / white socks. hillbilly music. and studio eight.

I have a bunch of appointments coming up at the VA - they have changed a lot of things and none of them are to my liking - procedures I have done before are different now and I don't understand why - just makes my situation harder for no reason that I understand - Plus if you have to go in for a procedure you have to go in first two day ahead of time to be tested for Covid - I ask them what the fuck for since they are the people that vaccinated me in the first place -

Makes me want to jump in line with the crazies who think the whole thing is a conspiracy or worse - anyway, a whole extra step in the process -

hell, I think no one has a handle on this thing at all - I'm tired of listening to people talk about it - so much info and all of it conflicting - I certainly am tired of all the fearmongering - enough.

Sorry to hear you ain't been out and about on your bike - I spent most of the summer on mine - bought another one in May, fat tires and such - I have many offroad trails up here on the Plateau and my first e-bike wasn't quite made for that - I named her Ruby, she's "big in the seam with a gangster lean" - Hell, I even cruise down the road on her -

Good to hear from you again -

I can SO relate to this - what a thrill to be outdoors on an October day, watching, listening to, & smelling Scott Brook tumbling downhill - and actually WALKING without my damned hip locking up. I don't know about you, Jack, but I got a little teary, & it wasn't from a foreign object in my eye.....

Congrats from one cyborg to another!

Having had 4 hrs sleep I make coffee 2:10 a.m. - marking the moments while the dog howls at a passing siren waking the one daughter of Eve in the house who says "Here comes another one" -

a flower
a Ferris wheel
railroad tracks heading inland

every moment filled, every person a share in the same consciousness - all the photographs ever taken - God looking through every eye, dreaming every dream -

no lighthouse at
the end of the road
just sea

In Japan, a woman carries around tea kettle, a toaster, and the graves of her mother & father - she walks streets & narrow alleys - she finds a bicycle to ride to a lake in the mountains,
when she gets there she walks the shore remembering a time she used a dictionary as musical instrument - later she reads a poem aloud, it brings tears to her eyes -

at the top of the hill
a single tree
a single cloud above it

2:48 a.m. - a chill edge to the air inside the house - I will start a fire soon - I have what I need to do that - as I gather kindling together I think of the woman in Japan -
I hope she too has what she needs to stay warm

an owl on a branch
excited not by dream
but by the sound of mice
running deep in dry dead grass

This poem was born in Nagasaki in the summer of 1904. In 1917 it moved to Wyoming where it learned 1. to ride a horse, 2. to read, 3. to love a very white girl.

In 1920 while out on a late autumn ride it ran into a grizzly bear and was not found until May the next year.
The poem bones & the horse bones were all mixed up and some were missing. They were given to the very white girl who took them home and began gluing them all together into one thing.

When she was done she set the whole thing on her front lawn so everybody could see.

Two days before she died in September 1956 her niece came to visit and asked her what the bones might mean.

"They are my heart" the very white dying girl replied.

poems unborn
poems on the run
beats me
i suppose poems are the perks of consciousness
makes me gratefull when I achieve my dreams
Anther beautiful, I mean Beautiful
October day that I am buring here.
Money worries will never drive me to suicide
I don't lose any sleep because my my dread of losing my meal ticket for the last 50 years
it is my dread losing my identity
becauce if I ain't a trucker I aint sh..
I dream more often of the trucks than anything else
a road longing lingers after I have nailed my feet to the floor
I am wating for the motician till the momentum arrives
onlt thing that keeps me hanging on is Zuihitsu with you, sunshine and bicycles
