Re: Bandit Notions
Nasty winter mix last night coming back to the lodge. Snow, sleet, freezing rain. Plows hadn't been out yet. Roads coated with bad juju. Just me and Vera rolling about 30 miles an hour and that was pushing it a bit.
Ya know, i just love my Cherokee.

I'm o.k., mingo. I'm always o.k.
Any emotions I have are fleeting, really. Isn't that rotten of me? If I get sad of sumpin' I turn it into something other.
I just was thinking about sx/sp stacking and decided I wanted to post a piece of the movie What dreams May Come, because that's what connected up this a.m.
Actually, I forget to ask how other people are cause I never really needing asked how I am. la la and let's jump in the snow.
I hope you're doing good, too.
Snowball on your head.
Gotta do it.

You crack me up, Doll, & that sx/sp stacking sounds porno. yeah, i'm smiling at myself just now. I'll catch ya later, this boy's going for the nap.
sx/sp stackin' - omg - next ?
hey I was looking at some old photos of here in Oswego Harbor couple of days ago from about 1860 right up to the 1930's - there were lots of these cool looking little rowboats, some with sails, all over the harbor. They were much like the boats you were showing me awhile back. They were all over the place, used for work & pleasure (no no, get your mind back on what i'm sayin' to ya here). I'd never seen them before and it took me by surprise. Doing some reseach on them now, trying to find out what name they were known by - they bear more than a passing resemblance to what is known up in the mountains to the north as Adirondack packboats or guide boats.
Am loading those picks you wanted now. I'm not happy with either one. I just could not get what I wanted in the photos. Waa - waa -waa.

I can't wait to see this.
I love looking at all the boats and the water, even when it's friends out there smiling back at you. Pretty cool stuff to me. Yes!

Veronica, love kayaks too! Been doing it two years now. Have two. The one in the photo is the first one we bought - a tandem, 16' long. She's a big girl, I call her the Bear. Use her for camping because if you take the back seat out and paddle solo it will hold all your gear and then some. She's a handful to navigate and not for fast water but I've learned a thing or two paddling her. I have a shorter kayak, an 11' boat. She's quick & easy to get around in and ... hot! Her name is Rita.
Been looking at inflatable kayaks all winter. Think I may be getting one when my tax refund gets here. Got the itch, ya know. I'll be looking forward to your pics -
post away! Leaving you another shot from earlier last year.

Think I have almost settled on a Saturn brand boat.
I'm glad you like boats.
'Nite, Doll.

Re: Bandit Notions
wow!!!! I quoted myself and I don´t know how to do it!!
I only paddled in the proa site of double kayaks at the moment, so I´m not an expert!
In the Paraná you have to be aware of big cereal ships crossing the canal (they can´t stop so you don´t have to be in the middle of their way...!) and kamikaze watermotorbikes, gomones & lanchas during the weekends... I wish there were only kayaks but it´s for moments the same as the city streets...!
Even though, there are days or more peaceful moments once you crossed the river. Tomorrow we will cross with a double Baum (it´s the name of a local astillero) and it´s also a big stable boat!
beautiful photos! (also the decorated cráneo?)
what is an inflatable kayak? Post pictures!

Re: Bandit Notions
hey Doll, Beading a wooden bowl. Looking at inflatable kayaks. Even looking at something called a Kaboat.
Billed as a hybrid between kayaks & raft boats but that's spin - i saw boats in the Orient that were designed like this and they were called dragon boats. They have been around for a long time over there. But the folks at Saturn Inflatables have done a good job with their creativities here. One, they've made it an inflatable. Two, comes in a variety of different lengths. Three, has a transom on the back where you can mount an electric motor or even a small outboard. Four, can be paddled or rowed. Five, heavy duty materials & construction. Six, the design is as stable as the Word of God, you can stand up in these things. Seven, when you are done, you deflate the craft, fold it up to about the size of a large suitcase and throw it in your trunk, or back of your Jeep - no roofracks or getting it up there & lashing it down. Last but not least, price. Not expensive to get into. In reach. Much less than competitors who have copied this design.
I'm thinking about the Kaboat because of future possibilities. It can be fitted with a serious sail rig. I wouldn't be able to do that this year because the sail set-up costs a bit more than the Kaboat itself, but I could add it next year for sure & I'd like to try my hand at sailing one of these things. It can be outfitted with whatever is likely to come along in the next few years. A small electric motor is in the neigborhood of a hundred bucks or so. Electric motors don't make hardly any noise at all, mostly all you hear is your prop wash - could still sneak up on the naminals.
I'm getting excited here. ZooooooooPoooooooWWW ! War Pony !
